'Legit' - 'Pilot': DJ Qualls takes another road trip

What did everybody think of the new FX comedy with Jim Jefferies?

I published my review of FX's "Legit" yesterday. Now it's your turn. What did everybody else think of the new comedy? If you were previously a Jim Jefferies fan, did this feel true to his stand-up persona? If he's new to you, what did you think of the guy? Did you like the visit to the whorehouse or find the whole thing uncomfortable? Did this show make better use of Mumford and Sons' "The Cave" then "Lone Star" did a couple of years ago? (UPDATE: Never mind on that; they dumped "The Cave" at last minute for a fun. song instead.) And will you watch again?

Have at it.

I liked it enough to stick arond for a while. I'm not familiar with Jeffries but I found him funny. I already knew I liked Qualls and Bakkedahl. And like your review said, the show strikes a balance not unlike Wilfred's. It's some weird blend of that show and My Name is Earl, almost.

However, could someone who just watched confirm this: was "The Cave" not in there? The pilot I just saw had fun.'s "Carry On" featured a lot in the road trip scenes and at the end and I can't remember another song being used.

His standup is very strong and relentlessly funny. In the standup special he did where he told this story the story itself lasted over a half hour so I already knew all of the detail and this plot followed it pretty closely. In a lot of ways it's like watching a rerun. It was still funny but I'm looking forward to seeing the show when I don't already know the plot.

I talked my husband into watching it even though he didn't think much of the previews on TV. We both loved it - although I'm sad that my sudden brilliant inspiration that the guy who plays Steve is the same guy who played Jeff on Chuck did not turn out to be true. Still awesome!

So funny! I just recently discovered Jim Jeffries by accident on a comedy special - the brothel joke was hilarious in his stand up routine, and think it played off great in the Legit pilot. My mother (68 yrs. old) called during show to have me turn it on - mentioned her friends had caught it on an earlier feed and were calling everyone around town to catch it on demand if they missed it. So glad I caught it. Can't wait to see where it goes. We loved the hooker that helped Billy have his first sexual experience. It was really sweet. As for the song - wrong song on tonight's broadcast. Guess you were eager to get some feed back about the problems you had with the show. I'd say just don't talk about it if you didn't/don't like it.

I'd never seen Jefferies before, but I loved the show. And, as Jasmine said, "We loved the hooker that helped Billy have his first sexual experience. It was really sweet." I agree. Alan, you recommended it, and I think another blog did also. I hadn't even known it was on and wouldn't have recorded it if you hadn't pointed it out. Thanks. I definitely will watch again.

as someone whose pretty familiar with jeffries (seen standup a few times, listen to him on podcasts for a few years now) it felt perfectly in his character and i will certainly continue to watch. this one now makes the dvr list. i think my favorite line was at the end when he was driving 'oh look. here comes the cripple and his friend, the good guy'

Watched it without knowing anything about it and we really enjoyed it. Set dvr to record upcoming episodes.
