The Malibu beach house men have matrimony on the brain in Season Ten. But where the heart (or other body part) is concerned, even the most honorable dude can screw up. Billionaire entrepreneur Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher) extends an extravagant proposal only to indulge in a fling with a stalker before finding true love under an assumed identity. Nebbish housemate Alan Harper (Jon Cryer) decides life with his longtime girlfriend is better with her than without, then gets caught in an internet scandal with his super hot ex-wife. And newly enlisted man Jake (Angus T. Jones) pops the Big Q to a tattoo queen twice his age, then decides he likes her daughter better! It's just what dudes do while under the influence of testosterone, women's wiles, and Berta's occasional pot brownies. Catch the hilarious contact high on all 23 manful episodes.

Eleven years ago, a show debuted about two men living together with a young-ish child.  They were, as you may have surmised, two and a half men.  Now, here we are, 11 years later and the start of the 12th season of the show.  The half men is a full man and not around all that much, one of the other men is completely gone and a new man has arrived, and yet the series keeps going.  It just keeps on going.  Watch and see for yourself just why that might be.

Tell us the truth, when Charlie Sheen left "Two and a Half Men" several years back, did you honestly think the show could continue very long?  What about when Angus T. Jones dropped down from being a regular and the series lost a regular appearance by its "half man?"  Did you, at that point, think that it was doomed?  Well, not only is the show ending its 11th season tonight, it's also going to be back for its 12th season come the fall.  Watch and laugh tonight, because you can bet the producers are.

Tonight on "Two and a Half Men," Jeff Probst appears.  Who will Probst be playing?  Come on now, Probst will be Probst, that's all there is to it.  We don't exactly understand how he'll be appearing as himself, but he will be appearing and he will be himself.  We tried to garner some information from the episode name, but it's called "Some Kind of Lesbian Zombie" and we're not even sure what that means.  All we are sure of is that the title doesn't refer to Probst himself.

They said it couldn't be done (some said it shouldn't be done).  They said it couldn't work.  They said there was no reason to continue.  And yet, here we here, Charlie Sheen free and terribly successful despite his absence. The show will be back for yet another season next fall.  Don't then think of this as a goodbye, think of it as 'yippee!'  And, if it makes you feel better, please insert your joke about Angus T. Jones no longer just being a half of a man 10 years later and having 'guest star' status next year right here.

We ask you, what is it about "Two and a Half Men" that pleases us so?  Is it the dude from "That '70s Show?"  Is it the one from those '80s movies?  Is it knowing that Rick 'Wild Thing' Vaughn is no longer on the sitcom?  We just can't say.  What we can say, unequivocally, is that the show is returning with new episodes beginning tonight.  Today, Alan will be investing some money in Kate's fashion line.  Naturally, he will be using Walden's money and that's where the point from which the hilarity will originate.  Laugh and be merry, the new year is here, the Mayan apocalypse is past, and "Two and a Half Men" is back on.

No, this is no mistake, it is in fact a Thursday night and a new episode of "Two and a Half Men" is airing.  CBS is not joking about making this a strong Thursday night comedy block.  Last season, Ashton Kutcher came on board the series and, perhaps surprisingly to some, a whole lot of people tuned in and stayed tuned in for more than just one or two episodes.  Can the show's success continue with this new night and time period?  We shall starting tonight.

Tonight is the 200th episode of "Two and a Half Men," a sincerely impressive number.  Now, at what point does that half man become a full man?  He's really no longer the same kid he was when the show began, is he?  Nine years, it's been nine years since "Two and a Half Men" started (or at the very least nearly nine full seasons).  Put another way, it's been 200 episodes.  We think they should totally up it to "Three Men" at this point, and then next year they can get a baby who will soon turn into a little lady.  Good plan, right?  Jason Alexander guest stars tonight.

Over on another network tonight (Comedy Central), you'll be able to see Charlie Sheen getting roasted.  The truth is however that even if he doesn't appear on tonight's episode of "Two and a Half Men," he's more than likely going to get roasted here as well.  Sheen, as we all know, left this series last year in a very public--and very ugly--fashion.  Ashton Kutcher is joining the cast this season in Sheen's stead, but that doesn't mean that Chuck Lorre and company are going to let Sheen go without giving him a swift kick on his way out the door.  Watch the goodbye to Sheen and the hello to Kutcher tonight.

Jenny McCarthy has been back far more recently than Lynch, so you'll excuse us if we focus on the "Glee" star as opposed to the anti-vaccine one.  It has been a while since we've seen Jane Lynch's Dr. Freeman on "Two and a Half Men," but that Freeman drought ends tonight.  It seems as though, what with the rising popular of the FOX singing show, that Lynch is everywhere.  For someone else that could be a bad thing, but we don't yet feel as though Lynch is overexposed.  Plus, when she does something like this, a role she had before "Glee," can you really get upset that she's reprising it?

Do you feel just a little like it's one of those special ratings times of year?  With all the guest stars popping up everywhere, it just has to be, doesn't it?  Just take "Two and a Half Men" for instance - tonight they have not only the return of Carl Reiner, but also the return of Jenny McCarthy.  Let us ask you a question - do you honestly care what the reason for McCarthy and Reiner appearing might be or do you only care that they're going to be on?  Us too.  No, really, we completely agree with your logic and exactly how you see everything.  Seriously, what you said, that's how we feel.

    Two and a Half Men

    May 24, 2010

There are those out there who said it couldn't be done, that it shouldn't be done, that it wouldn't be done.  And yet, it's been done, and done well.  "Two and a Half Men" is closing its seventh season tonight by bringing us another 30 minutes (with commercials) of funny, and it's funny that remains funny despite the fact that the show is getting older.  We attribute that to the fact that the characters at the show's core seem to remain perpetually juvenile... except Angus Jones', he looks remarkably different now than he did when the series began.
