TV Network - FOXWhat does it mean, mathematically speaking, that tonight's season finale is not one, but two episodes? As opposed to being 60 minutes, it's 120 minutes. With commercials, that is. Without commercials it's somewhere around 86 minutes (that's the ballpark anyway), instead of 43 minutes. But, those are lots of numbers, and we're not quite sure what they all mean. If only there was some kid somewhere who could make sense of them, who could connect the dots, and if only we could understand what said kid's explanation was.

If the ratings can be believed, the odds are that you did not watch the first season of "Touch," the new FOX Kiefer Sutherland show. Well, your not watching it didn't stop FOX from renewing the series. Why don't you then give in, accept that the show is going to be on the air once more this year and that you're going to watch. We have a sneaking suspicion that FOX is going to keep bringing the show back over and over again in an attempt to touch our hearts and souls. Give in and watch tonight, you may actually like what you see. Just pretend he's playing Jack Bauer. Go on, give it a shot.

Last week we got a big old two hour premiere of "Touch," and as awesome as that was (even if Kiefer kept claiming he wasn't Jack Bauer when we all know he really is), it's not the sort of thing that can be sustained week after week. Eventually, as we all understand, the show has to drop back to a standard one hour airing, and that is what's going to occur tonight. It is our hope that they're able to pack two hours worth of thrills into the single hour they have, and we'll just have to see if that is in fact what takes place.

We would like to do a whole Divinyls thing here about what happens when we think about Kiefer, but it just doesn't feel right to do that, does it? At least, it doesn't feel family friendly. So, we're not going to do it. Know this, however, the series is moving from New York to Los Angeles tonight and there will be some new faces (and apparently no Gugu Mbatha-Raw). Aster Corps, we are promised, will figure into the proceedings, and that'll be nice because we want to understand exactly what's going on there.

Back in January we got a special sneak premiere early episode thing for "Touch." Last week the Kiefer Sutherland series settled into its regular time slot by reairing that first episode. Now, tonight, we're getting the first new episode of the series since that special sneak episode. Is there a hidden pattern here in the way the show is unfolding? If we carefully analyze the dates, times, and stars of the show and cross-reference that with tides and the cellphone number of our congressman we think that we might be able to piece together exactly what is happening here. You should totally do the same.
