Tell us the truth, there are moments when watching "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" that you're secretly thinking about "The Beverly Hillbillies," aren't you? It's okay, we do it too. We keep waiting for one of them (Maloof? Richards? the other Richards?) to bust out a 'cement pond' reference. No, we don't think of these individuals as hillbillies, but we're hoping for the reference anyway. As strange as this may sound, it would somehow comfort us. Maybe we'll get our wish on tonight's third season premiere. Come on, Vanderpump, throw us a bone.

We have often told you how great these "Real Housewives" reunions are and it has fallen to us to yet again speak of their brilliance. You see, a "Real Housewives" reunion puts all the people who sort of hate each other in a room at the same time to talk about what happened during the season and all the backstabbing and lies which have already aired on television. There is no more denying, there is no walking out of the room, there is no more obfuscating. It is, essentially, like what "The Real World" opening narration tells us that show is going to be (you know that whole 'and start getting real' bit). Plus, they're catty.

Will there be a wedding today on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" season finale? Well, we'll tell you this -- the episode is entitled 'The Real Wedding of Beverly Hills.' They do say that it's a 'real' wedding, so maybe there will be a real wedding, or maybe they're using the term in an ironic fashion. For instance, we kind of figure that the use of the word 'real' in the series' title is entirely ironic, so why not use the word ironically in an episode title as well? Real or not, it's sure to be explosive because it's the season finale and the show tends to be explosive in general.

The filming of this particular "Real Housewives" franchise has had some issues issues during season two, including the suicide of one of the people on the show. How the series will handle the death and its ramifications -- in fact, how the franchise as a whole will handle it -- remains to be seen for both this premiere and the episodes that follow. The franchise hasn't always been known for its down to earth considerations of that which is humane and appropriate, but it also hasn't had to deal with quite as serious an issue before.

We just love these reunion shows in the 'Real Housewives' franchise. There is something so special about getting to relive all of the great moments from the season and watching the women yell at one another about how what we saw isn't what happened or how we didn't get to see the most important part or one of them still lying about what we all just saw on camera. Weird and wonderful things happen during the main part of the series, but it's during the reunion shows where the crazy truly appears and we love it.
