The Lying Game

There may or may not be a wedding tonight on "The Lying Game." We don't mean that in the sense that there could technically always be a wedding on any show, all you need is for the characters to get drunk. No, we mean that there are in fact people preparing to wed tonight on the finale. We aren't saying that there will be a wedding (come on, this isn't the kind of series where everything is obvious and up front and lacks twists), we are just saying that people are getting ready to get married. We'll just have to watch tonight to see if it comes off. You should do the same, because we don't plan on updating this event after the fact.

When we have a series title like "The Lying Game," we find ourselves in something of a bind. How can we possibly write some sort of summary about the show in anything remotely resembling a truthful manner? Isn't that lying to ourselves about who we are? But, to not tell the truth would be lying to you. Let us be dishonest then to ourselves -- the show is about twins... and deception. It stars, amongst others, Alexandra Chando and Charisma Carpenter. There are reveals about birth mothers and affairs and mysterious new men about town, and the second season ends tonight.

Yesterday, ABC Family gave us a marathon of 'The Lying Game' episodes, and tonight we're getting the winter premiere of new episodes. While we have, in the past, been accused of having something of a short memory, the truth is that even we can remember everything we need to remember about the lying on "The Lying Game." We don't really want to spoil anything about the premiere episode, but we do want to tell you this -- Charisma Carpenter is going to be on tonight, and in our mind that would be a reason to watch even if this wasn't the winter premiere (which, let us remind you again, it is).

Do not fear "Lying Game" fans, the series has been given an order for another 12 episodes here in the first season. That is, of course, not a guarantee that season two will be coming down the line, but at the very least, the shenanigans will continue for more of the first season (answers! we want answers!). The series deals with two separated at birth twins and one of them disappearing and a subsequent hunt for 'the truth.' Please, do not confuse this series with "Switched at Birth" that show has two people switched at birth, this is separated at birth and it's a totally and completely different thing.
