As you well know, "The Killing" was cancelled following its second season only to be resurrected for this year. Tonight though, the extra season ends. The question becomes whether or not it was worth it. Have you enjoyed this third season of "The Killing?" Has it given you everything you ever wanted from the series and didn't necessarily get in the first two years? Well, we hope it has, we hope you're satisfied with what you've gotten or that you will be satisfied following tonight's two episodes because the season is ending with them. Will there be a fourth? We simply don't know.

Come the beginning of August, "The Killing" will finish its third season with back-to-back episodes. It will, we are told, feature a conclusion to this season's mystery. We aren't going to say that these promises will be fulfilled, but perchance they might. With this episode, the eighth of the season, we nudge ever closer to that point, ever closer to the moment when the season finale airs and the mystery may be solved. We won't promise that things will, narratively speaking, progress today, but they might, they just might. Can you possibly afford to not watch?

Just when you thought that season two marked the forever and ever end of the series, AMC announced that "The Killing" would return for a third year. Oh yeah, it's back and it's kicking off with not one but two episodes tonight. How excited are you? You are super excited, super duper excited, we can tell. There is a whole new murder to investigate this season, possibly more than one (we only say that because the description mentions a 'string of murders' which is a pretty good indication of what we can expect). The Rosie Larsen case is over, but that doesn't mean that the fallout doesn't continue to sting.

We would say that hopefully you could expect some sort of conclusion on tonight's episode of "The Killing," but history is against us. On the other hand, it's entirely possible that someone will have learned from all the upset that occurred last season and that we'll get the most triumphant finale ever tonight. Hmmm... quite honestly, having said that, we have absolutely no idea what we can expect from tonight's episode. And that uncertainty, dear reader, makes it worth watching.

Yes, we have labelled this as a "must watch" event, but please don't believe that we're going to hold your feet to the fire in any way. We all know that there were a significant number of people out there who felt (and we won't say wrongly) betrayed by the way the show ended its first season. It is in fact, still talked of. We can't possibly force such people to dive into the series yet again, we're not inhumane. Instead, we point it out as an option for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure). The season starts up with back-to-back episodes tonight.

All season we've been wondering who killed Rosie Larsen... actually, that's a lie, we haven't. What we've actually been wondering is 'Oh my goodness, how did Chrissy Seaver get pregnant?' and 'Wow, is Chrissy Seaver really pregnant?' but, that's nearly the same thing, isn't it? Well, no, no it really isn't, but the point we're making is that no matter why you've been intrigued by this series, you've been intrigued by this series and your questions just may be answered tonight.

A killing has taken place in Seattle. Well, we can't speak for the reality of that statement - presumably there have been killings in Seattle at some point, but we're not discussing that - however in this new show, a killing has taken place and we're going to get to see multiple sides of the murder investigation. What you're going to get are the stories of the victim's family, the suspects, and the cops doing the investigating. You wouldn't be wrong to expect twists and turns and hidden truths either. That's just the sort of thing you should be expecting.
