The Great Food Truck Race

We think that tonight's season finale takes place in New York, which we also think makes for a pretty swell finish line (didn't the first season of "The Amazing Race" end there?). We think the former because the episode is called 'New York Plate of Mind' and we think the parenthetical note because we watched and it did (we double-checked with Wikipedia too). We don't imagine that Phil will greet the winners here at the finish line, but wouldn't it be pretty great if he did? We don't want to take anything away from Tyler Florence, but we like our Phil Keoghan too.

Every August since 2011, Food Network has brought us a new edition of "The Great Food Truck Race" and they're not going to let that relatively recent tradition end this year. Tonight, the new season begins and that means we're going to get a whole new season of teams and trucks and food and challenges. We don't know where they'll find themselves or who is going to win, but tonight ought to start to make all of those things clear. Tyler Florence returns as host.

Entitled 'I Left my Food Cart in San Francisco,' Food Network is going to premiere the first episode of the new season of "The Great Food Truck Race" tonight. And, if you think that's a mouthful of a sentence, you should see some of the unbelievably delicious looking foods that the teams put together. We don't know the exact moment that food carts become bastions for brilliant, delicious eats, but they have and "The Great Food Truck Race" highlights some of that delicious food... race style. Watch and see what you're missing if you don't eat from a 'roach coach.'

Do you think that at some point they're going to retitle this series "A Great Food Truck Race?" We get that it was the great race during the first season, but then it was another great race during second, and now here we are at the show's third season, where it's clearly a third great race. The twist this year is that the contestants aren't already food truck owners, they all want to be and the winner will not only get to keep the food truck they utilize on the race (which they are initially just borrowing), they'll also get some start up money. Tyler Florence hosts.
