The existence of borders doesn't mean a lot to some people and, consequently, sometimes those who are fighting on the side of the law have difficulties because they work on one side of a border, but a case brings them to another. This series focuses on our southern border with Mexico and how a case (or cases) cross the border and affect those people on both sides who have to work the case. Much of last year focused on a serial killer, but that storyline wrapped up and something new is assuredly afoot now.
Season two starts tonight.

You may have suspected that heading into a holiday weekend (okay, yes, it's Wednesday, but trust us, we're still heading into it) there wouldn't be that much new TV one, but you'd be wrong. For instance, no Labor Day holiday is going to stop "The Bridge" from being new tonight, and we think they've titled the episode to reflect the struggle their up against, as it's called "Goliath." Or not, that's just a hypothesis. Perhaps the title will relate to what happens tonight on the episode. Only way to find out.

We sincerely hope that you've been keeping up with this season of "The Bridge" because here's the thing -- it's a serialized drama and as such it might become difficult to catch up if you fall behind. So, don't do that, tune in tonight and find out all about Marco's new ally. Honestly, we worry whenever we read such a description because what if the ally isn't really an ally but only pretending to be. Find out just how real this potential alliance is tonight.

Last week, we got the first episode in the second season of "The Bridge." As happens with television series, the premiere (season or series) essentially starts to establish the kind of thing we can expect this season. Perhaps there's a criminal investigation that begins and which will bring us through the season. Perhaps characters are shown to have some issues they will have to work through during the season. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. "The Bridge" opened its new season last week and definitely established some questions, see how they follow-up tonight.

Ah, lucky episode 13. Tonight, "The Bridge" is airing lucky episode 13 which, coincidentally, marks the conclusion of the series' first season. Will it feature the capture of any truly bad people? Will it feature the opening of a new case? Will it feature drugs and border issues and officers of the law doing their best to bring justice to an otherwise unjust world? Well, almost certainly it will feature the last of these things, but we'll have to see about whether it has any of the former. We actually suspect it will feature some pretty good acting as well, tune in and see if we're not right about that.

We could repeat to you here the brief synopsis FX has provided us for "The Bridge," the problem is that we don't know that you want to know. Do you want to know about someone bonding with a witness? Do you desire to find out about a call placed to an old friend? Here is where things stand -- we are nearly at the halfway point of the season, the setup has occurred and the show has been given some time to get us involved with the story and characters. It is time to see how they move forward and what they do to keep us involved as we head into the back end of the season.

Just watching the promos for "The Bridge," which we have been seeing for months, we couldn't tell you very much series, no not much at all. Happily, we have the official description to clue us (and you) in. The show is a crime thriller on the US-Mexico border. It deals with murder and drugs and illegal immigration and violence and prostitution. That sounds about right considering the moodiness of the promos. We truly would have been shocked if after seeing the promos we learned that this show was a lighthearted comedy about a troll keeping watch over the only entrance and exit from a town.
