All too soon, summer will be a distant memory.  It will be but a wisp of a fragment of a dream as the winter snows approach.  USA's series of summer programs will be gone as well (before they return to finish the season as winter's cruel heart begins to thaw).  We therefore, humbly, suggest that you watch "Suits" while you can.  Patrick J Adams and Gabriel Macht won't be here with their legal maneuvering and dapper looks for long -- the season ends two weeks from tonight.  Don't let it slip away.

Here is the thing, the season of "Suits" may be steadily chugging along at this point, but all too soon it's going to be done.  That's right, here we are at the end of July and things are beautiful, but we promise you that before the end of August, the summer season will be done.  Tonight is episode seven of the 10 we're going to get in the summer portion of season four and that means that the end is nigh.

As has become tradition, a total of 16 episodes have been ordered for this, the fourth season of USA legal drama "Suits."  And again, as has become tradition, the plan is to air 10 of these episodes over the summer and the final six at a later date.  Listen, we aren't going to lie to you, we didn't love the back half of season two of the series but definitely think things went back during the show's third season.  Now, we expect nothing but exceptional episodes for season four.  Plus, that great theme song.

What can you do?  There really is no other way to say this -- we're truly sad that, after such a short period, "Suits" is ending its season.  See, they went through 10 episodes in the summer/fall, leaving a mere six for this run here in the late winter/early spring.  Tonight, that sixth episode in the run airs and with it, the season ends.  We expect some truly excellent lawyering tonight on the show and a big old win for Harvey Specter and Mike Ross.  They haven't had the easiest of outings and it will nice to see them come out smiling.  And, to make you smile, we'll just remind you that the show is going to return for a fourth season down the line.

With apologies, it is impossible for us to discuss "Suits" without discussing Ima Robot's brilliantly used as a theme song for the series tune, "Greenback Boogie." Oh sure, Gabriel Macht and Patrick J Adams and the rest of the cast are fun to watch and some of the storylines are really interesting, but for us, it's "Greenback Boogie" that sells the show.  The back of season three starts airing tonight and the show has already been renewed for a fourth season of 16 episodes.  That means that there's a whole lot of boogie still in our future.

Sometimes, we watch the "Suits" theme song over and over again.  Its actual name is "Greenback Boogie" and we love it.  We also love Macht and Adams and everyone else on the show.  We do have some questions about the legal methods the folks employ, but ti's not really about that, is it?  You can't be watching the series in hopes of using any of their methods in court, can you be?  No.  Certainly not.  In any case, the third season doesn't end tonight, but the summer run of episodes does.  Watch and enjoy.

Tonight's episode of "Suits" is entitled "Unfinished Business."  This, naturally makes us wonder (it does not 'beg the question,' that's entirely different) if we're going to see someone from past year's on "Suits" or if it's business that is unfinished from some non-"Suits" episode moment.  We like when characters return, but we also understand that Mike and Harvey had a life before the show began and consequently may have unfinished bits of business from that pre-series era.

We don't know how much we liked the last few episodes of the second season of "Suits."  It was so incredibly focused on the internal war at the company that, we think, something may have been lost.  But, ours is not to review, ours is to tell you that the new season begins tonight and that, we hope, it's going to be spectacular.  Plus, unless they change things up, "Greenback Boogie" will still be the theme song.  We love it.  Great song.  On a plot level, keep your fingers crossed that Mike and Rachel figure it all out.   We are rooting for those crazy kids, well those kids and the various bits of slash fiction involving Mike and Harvey (but not the ones with Louis).

Like a closing argument from out of left field, blam, the "Suits" season finale is upon us.  We had no idea it was here.  We had no idea it was coming.  We have no idea what we're going to do without our favorite lawyer and our favorite pretend lawyer and our favorite assistant and our favorite paralegal on Thursday nights.  There is going to be a gaping black hole in our schedule, a black hole like the one they send you to in prison if you don't behave.  "Suits" has been renewed for a third season, but that's months and months away.  Maybe we'll sneak into a law office tomorrow pretending to be a judge just to get our fix.

We have been told that we have a good memory, a scarily good memory.  We don't quite remember who said that to us or when exactly, but we know someone did at some point... we think it was a guy.  Mike Ross here on "Suits," he would remember exactly who said it and when -- he has that sort of memory.  He is even a pretty great lawyer, and the only problem with that is that he didn't go to law school.  Yeah, that's caused the kid a few issues, but Harvey Specter is there to try and help Mike out (and vice versa).  Together, they're the crack legal team on "Suits" and they're summer season ends today.

Okay, fine, we'll admit it, the legal smarts of this series are sometimes kind of lacking -- they don't actually always follow they way the law actually works.  On the other hand, one of the main characters isn't a lawyer, he's only pretending to be so maybe that makes up for it.  The series stars Gabriel Macht as the actual lawyer and Patrick J. Adams as the not-so-much lawyer.  They play and have fun and outsmart other people, but they don't always do any of this together, it's regularly more of an adversarial thing even when it need not be.

We would by lying if we told you that we thought every single moment of this first season of "Suits" has been completely brilliant.  The show has had a few missteps here and there ("begging the question" being one... trust us, they blew the definition there), but we've liked a lot of what we've seen.  The whole thing has the typical USA off-kilter character and high-gloss sheen to it, which helps make us feel spiffy as we sit there and watch.  Speaking of spiffy, and the show's name, we would never buy some of the ties Gabriel Macht's character wears, but the rest of his clothes are quite nice.  Watch, you'll probably like them too.
