The outlaw motorcycle club in question here has had their ups and downs this television season, but everything really comes to a head tonight - it would have to as this is the season finale.  There are pretty much two ways the season could end - nice and tidy bow or shocking cliffhanger.  Were we betting people we'd be betting on the latter.  The reason we're not betting people though is that if we did bet on this we'd also place a wager that John Bender's man-child will show up and do the "if he gets up, we'll all get, it'll be anarchy" speech from "The Breakfast Club." Unlikely yes, but we wouldn't be able to help ourselves and that's why we don't bet.

We fully expect a whole lot to go down on tonight's season finale.  We won't swear that we're going to be happy with every little thing that goes down, but go down it will.  So, when people ask you 'What's up with "SOA?"' You can replay 'Dude, a lot is going down.'  Then, you can show them your cool beans biker tats.  You do have cool beans biker tats, don't you?  We actually went out and got some cool beans biker tats before the season premiere (so we could be ready when things went down).  You should definitely consider doing the same for the finale.

Can we just take a moment and point something out to you?  Broadcast networks are beginning to roll out their fall schedules and yet, here's FX launching the new season of "Sons of Anarchy."   That kind of means they think this series can compete with the broadcast networks, that it will stand on its own despite what the networks are doing.  If that's the case, you may want to see what the buzz is all about.  Well, either it means that or it means that the biker gang featured on "Sons of Anarchy" doesn't take any guff from anyone and they may just go to war to protect this time slot so FX isn't so worried.

As is sometimes the case, and as makes us so very happy, we can tell you even before the fourth season finale of "Sons of Anarchy" airs tonight that the show has already been picked up for a fifth season.  We don't know exactly when next year it is going to start, but we do know that it will exist.  That's right, even if half the gang dies tonight in a bloody shootout (or from typhus), "Sons of Anarchy" will get a fifth season.  We don't expect half the folks to die, but it's good to know that the series won't end if they do.

There are some shows where it might be a little hard for us to explain why you have to watch.  We can point to performances and plots and that sort of thing, but in this case we're going to keep coming back to telling you about this biker gang at the center of the show and we're just not sure that such a description will entice you if you haven't already started in on the series.  Let us then point out this -- the show is, we're told, the top-rated series in FX history and if our 'Seriously, you have to watch the biker show' thing didn't get you, maybe you'll simply be convinced to jump on the bandwagon (and that's good enough for us because you should definitely be watching).

What's that old saying?  You can't keep a good son of an anarchist down (it's not you can't keep a good son of an antichrist down, that much we know)?  Well, sadly, you can apparently keep "Sons of Anarchy" down, because for an extended period there are going to be no new episodes.  No, we don't imagine the show will be down for the count or anything, but it's going to be down for a while, even if 'down' in this case really only means sitting on a stool in the corner (because, really, isn't that 'down' when compared to standing?).  Watch the season finale and see if they go out with a bang.

That's right, your favorite gang of rebel bikers are back for another go-round on FX.  What can we expect this year from the nice folks with the sweet rides?  Oh goodness.  Intrigue, certainly.  Mayhem, possibly.  Comedic bits, almost without a doubt.  As foul language as you can have on cable without going to a premium channel, doubtless.  Plus, as we said above, there will be some pretty sweet rides.  The only things we know first-hand about bikers are what we learned staying at a 'bikers' welcome' motel in Wisconsin, but we lived through that experience so they can't be all bad and that night makes us want to watch the series even more.
