Smash

Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty on 'Smash.'

Smash

May 26, 2013 09:00 PM

TV Network - NBC

It launched, like many a Broadway series to great fanfare.  It even managed to get a second season.  What "Smash" hasn't done to this point, is garner a massive audience.  These two back-to-back episodes tonight ought to mark the last two new episodes we'll ever get of "Smash," and, we fear, put a significant damper on any forthcoming Marilyn Monroe musical on Broadway.  We could be wrong, Eileen and Julia and Derek and everyone else might pull it out.  It isn't the sort of thing we would bet on, but stranger things have happened.

    TV Network - NBC

If we were an annoying baseball announcer we could say that tonight's episodes of "Smash" were going 'back-to-back and belly-to-belly' but we prefer not to do that.  We prefer to tell you all about how the revamped series is returning tonight with two episodes.  Expect definite changes from season one including the addition of some new faces and the disappearance of some old ones.  While those things have been well publicized elsewhere, we prefer not to delve into them here so that you can be completely surprised by whom you see (or don't).  And, for those of you wondering, we still have a bad case of McPheever.

Additionally, Jennifer Hudson guest stars tonight.
