TV Network - ShowtimeBased on a show from some other country (England), this Showtime series stars William H. Macy of many a film fame and Emmy Rossum and a whole bunch of other people as a family known as the Gallaghers. Now, this family isn't exactly what you and I would expect of a family, but families do come in all shapes and sizes, so we probably shouldn't be judging. Who cares if this particular family is... shameless (for lack of a better word)? Plus, just to be clear, this is a TV family we're talking about, their differences are sometimes accentuated for dramatic effect. Watch and you'll see what we mean.

Why is it so good to watch people do bad? Does it make us a bad person to enjoy this sort of thing? We think that if this were a reality series, it might be bad of us to enjoy this, but it isn't, it's a scripted series--a scripted series that will return with a new season next year--so it's probably okay. "Shameless," based on the British original series, stars (amongst others) William H Macy and Emmy Rossum and is sure to end the season with a few fireworks... maybe even actual fireworks, we wouldn't dare to guess.

Dysfunctional families are nothing new on television, but there's always something slightly more enjoyable about a dysfunctional family as portrayed on premium cable television. Why, do you think, is that? Is it the ability for the producers to make the dysfunctions more dysfunctional? Is it the fact that they're able to use more language? Honestly, we don't quite know what the cause is, but we highly recommend you take a gander at this dysfunctional family -- it may be a cliche, but "Shameless" totally puts the 'fun' in dysfunctional.
