RuPaul's Drag U

RuPaul and RuPaul's various visiting professors have helped create some outstanding lip-sync performances. It has been, as with the first two seasons, an enjoyable experience. What will tonight's season finale bring? Will the would-be divas fall flat on their faces? Will they be able to pull it off? Will they find the perfect outfit and have just the right sort of make-up? The truth is that we imagine it will all go swimmingly (even if there are moments when it appears as though it might not). We are predicting a rousing and wonderful finale.

The point, as we understand (and we may be completely off-base) of "RuPaul's Drag U" is to point drag queens in class so that they can learn how to be drag racers. Okay, so that was completely off-base. No, the point is to give makeovers to those who RuPaul would suggest need them. This season in fact not only features drag queens but also--so says the synopsis--biological women. And, naturally, there will be lip-sync stage performances too. It's much more like a class than a race -- and don't think that you can't have fun in school.

There is something unbelievably special about the end of the school year. Whether or not you love your classes and your professors, the end of the school year is a magical moment of celebratory goodness. Tonight, the current class at RuPaul's Drag University graduate, but that of course forces us to ask (it does not 'beg the question' as that is about a proposition requiring proof being assumed without said proof ) whether anyone can ever really stop learning. Aren't the individuals who have been so wonderfully educated on this series going to continue to pursue their sutdies as they move forward in life? We certainly imagine they will.
