The run of "Running Wilde" won't go down in television history as being one of the more successful endeavors. The show, undeniably, garnered its fans, and it was nice to see Keri Russell and Will Arnett back on television on a regular basis, but none of those factors was enough to push the series over the top. After tonight, once the final episode has aired, where will the series head? We actually presume it will go back to the Amazon, where it can hide among the indigenous population until it decides to reemerge in a complete series boxed set.

Okay, "Running Wilde" hasn't exactly been running wild in the ratings category and the two episodes tonight mark the end of the season. Now, just because the thing hasn't been a crashing success, it doesn't mean that we all can't sit down and enjoy the funny the show has to offer in these two episodes. Trust us, there will be funny. Does it matter that there are going to be no more episodes? Do you really need more episodes to find these two funny? Can't we just enjoy the time we have together and not think of the future?

We wish - we truly wish - that we could tell you why Paul Shaffer is going to be on "Running Wilde" tonight. We've read the description of the episode that was provided and it makes no mention of Shaffer. The listing does state that Shaffer will appear, but we don't know how or why. It leaves us slightly quizzical. How will Shaffer fit into the episode? Will he make a Letterman joke? Will he be wearing sunglasses? There are just so many questions for which we want answers. We guess we'll just have to watch.
