Marissa Jaret Winokur is joining the cast for the new season, playing Amy.  Yes, yes, Amy was played by Casey Wilson during the first season, but now Amy is being played by Marissa Jaret Winokur.  Is Winokur going to be the same Amy as Wilson was?  Let us respond by asking you this -- are any of us really the same people who we were a year ago?  Don't we all change somewhat?  Even if we were to tell you that 'Yes, Winokur is playing the same character,' would she really be the same character or would her added experiences over the past year make her someone different?

As we said when the season started--or perhaps it was the series, we've grown rather old and senile and can't quite remember--we desperately wish we could retire at 35.  We would even move to Florida if that's what was required.  It isn't that we don't love our job, it's just that we're tired.  Tired of winters, tired of whining children, tired of not collecting Social Security.  That sort of thing.  Watching this series we see that there are pitfalls to retiring at such a young age, but we still think the benefits outweigh the risks.  You watch the season finale and make the decision for yourself.

We said it before and we'll say it again, it is our dream to be retired at 35 and it's one of the reasons we love the premise behind this show.  Of course, the only way that we're ever going to have George Segal as a father is the same way as the only way we'll ever be able to retire at 35 -- we'll have to win the lottery, and not some piddling lottery either, a Mega Millions/Powerball-type lottery.  We do play every week so there's a chance, but odds are we're just going to have to live vicariously through this series which ends its first season tonight.
