We, as you may have guessed from the number of times we've told you about it, love this show.  We aren't sure if we're a Psych-o or not, but we do love the series, what with its wit, its humor, and its funny  We think the characters have developed in interesting fashion, the guest stars have been great, it's wise in the way that it uses pop culture references, and it has one of the best theme songs on television.  We know you know that we are telling the truth there.  Tune in tonight to the show's final episode (and the after show) and see if you don't grow just a tad weepy.

Wow, this is kind of a tough month for television.  First, "How I Met Your Mother" is being put out to pasture forever at the end of the month, and just a few days prior, "Psych" will be airing its final episode ever.  Tune in tonight as episode seven in this final, 10 episode, season airs.  It is a sad time for Shawn and Gus, or it would be if they had any idea what was coming.  They don't.  That is just one of the things that makes them so charming.

As hour-long comedy-dramas go, "Psych" is the one airing the fourth episode of its eighth season tonight.  Oh, we kid, we kid.  We kid because we care.  We kid because "Psych" is, regularly, a wonderful combination of humor and drama and Gus, or whatever name he's going by this week, would totally agree with us.  Listen, we know there are rumors of the show coming to a close soon, but we hope those rumors are greatly exaggerated, we hope that we never have to face a world without "Psych."  Tune in tonight and see what makes it so much fun.

Amazingly, at least we find it amazing, Dule Hill has now been Gus longer than he was Charlie (from "West Wing").  Of course, on the other hand, when you consider the utter amusement offered up by "Psych," perhaps it's not terribly surprising (we submit our observation based on the fact that "West Wing" ran seven seasons and this is the eighth for "Psych," not an episode count).  Well, in case you're not in the know, the show stars Hill and James Roday as a team of goofy crimefighters, one of whom pretends to be psychic.

Oh man, we have been waiting for this for a long time, a very long time.  If we are correct (and we believe we are), this episode finished filming more than a year ago. Now, tonight, it is being handed to us as the perfect--perfect we tell you--Christmas gift (or holiday gift).  Two hours of the folks on "Psych" signing?  Oh yes, it's going to be great.  It's going to be brilliant.  You are going to love it. Keep those fingers crossed that they all sing their theme song.  We love their theme song.

Prior to the airing of the seventh season of "Psych," the show was renewed for an abbreviated eighth season.  There was much consternation that the reason the eighth season is set to be shorter is that it will be the series' last; that it will be something of a victory lap for the show.  Of course, the seventh season premiered to great ratings, so perhaps USA will consider expanding the eighth season and keeping the series going on for the rest of our natural lives.  One way to ensure that happening is to get everyone in the country to watch tonight's finale.  Should that occur the numbers will be outstanding.

Tonight, "Psych" will mark its 100th episode.  Put another way, tonight will be roughly the 50,000th time Shawn Spencer will put his hand to his head to pretend like he's had some sort of vision.  Expect to see a whole lot of guest stars, to hear a whole lot of jokes, and to get a special opening credits sequence.  We can't really promise any of those things will happen, but we're hopeful and the promos indicate that more than one of the above will occur.  We know you know that we're telling the truth.

Tonight begins the new season of "Psych," that ridiculously fun show that stars James Roday and Dule Hill.  Season seven--this year's season--features 16 episodes of "Psych" goodness.  Season eight, which has already been ordered, is going to have eight episodes, but we're not going to focus on that and what it may mean for the future of the show.  Instead, we'll note that season seven is going to include show's 100th episode and, we believe, the ever popular late-in-a-series' run musical episode.  We even think that they've signed Barry Bostwick to appear in the episode.  So, come on, get happy.

We have never told anyone this before, but we're kind of psychic.  We don't want to brag or anything, but we can sense things.  It is an ability which was honed by our out of town uncle who would regularly send us text (mixed) messages.  Now, when we see a television series we have the magical ability to know whether the episode in question will, in some way, be special.  Right now we're sensing that Shawn and Gus are in for a great adventure in the "Psych" season finale.

There was this moment last summer, the moment when USA pushed "Psych" back from its traditional summer premiere, when it seemed as though the series was not long for this world.  Well, the second half of season six is premiering tonight and a January announcement promised us that "Psych," the network's longest running series, would indeed be back for a seventh season.  How absolutely wonderful is that?  "Psych" is going to have seventh season; "Psych" may actually get even further than that; "Psych" lives!  Oh man, we're excited, we're hugely excited, we may just have to break out our Tap Man outfit and do a little dance.

As has apparently become the norm for oh so many a cable (and not so cable) television series, "Psych" has aired a whole bunch of episodes back to back (nine including tonight) and will now take a break for several months to catch their breath and really give us all a moment to think about that which we've seen thus far.  Has this been the greatest season of "Psych?"  Well, it certainly has had some great episodes, most notably 'This Episode Sucks' and 'Last Night Gus.'  The poor blueberry.  We regret that it was treated so shabbily.

P.S. - Tony Hale, Lori Loughlin, and Jason Priestly guest star tonight.

We may have had to wait for the season to start, but "Psych" has done an excellent job of lining up guest stars this season.  Last week there was Danny Glover and Wade Boggs, and this week we're getting Molly Ringwald.  We all know that the series loves the 1980s, and Molly Ringwald is pretty much the perfect 1980s movie star for the show.  We highly suggest you tune in and perhaps create a little game wherein you have to drink (water) every time they make a Brat Pack reference.  You'll probably want to TiVo the show so that you can pause it once your bladder fills.

Don't you forget about them.  They may not have aired this summer, but Shawn and Gus are back on the case now that's Fall.  We love these two goofballs and hear tell that there are going to be a whole lot of guest stars this season on the show.  If you're a long time fan of the show, you'll know that the series has done an excellent job with long term stories and the week-to-week shenanigans.  Will they keep that up now that Yin and Yang are gone?  Or, are Yin and Yang gone?  Sure, we think that they're gone, but are they really?  Would you want them to really be gone?  We are not so sure.

For what is, by our count, the third season finale in a row, Shawn and Gus will be facing the nefarious Yin once more.  Okay, yes, one of those three times they face Yang, but it was still part of the same recurring plot so we're calling it the same thing.  Historically, these episodes have been exceedingly good even if they do break from the humor of a traditional "Psych" episode.  We greatly look forward to seeing what the serial killer has in mind this time out, and if Shawn will be able to defeat his nemesis once and for all.  We don't think he will as "Psych" has been renewed for another season, but he might.  And, Cybill Shepherd comes back tonight.

The issue has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not we're telling the truth.  It has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you have any proof.  Other lines from our favorite TV show's theme song as well.  "Psych" is back to finish out it's fifth season, a moment that is both happy and sad for us.  Happy because it's back and sad because we don't want it to end.  It has already been picked up for season six which is great, but we do wish it never had to go away.

We know you know that this is the summer season finale, so why then are we telling you about this particular episode of "Psych?"  Well, because that's our job - we highlight notable episodes of television series.  Do we come down to your workplace and ridicule you?  That would be like pretending to be a psychic detective and working with the police on case after case after case, always showing up the actual detectives who work on the force with your fake psychic nonsense.  Which is to say, it's not very nice but might make for a great television show.

"Psych" is back for an all-new season of hi-larious hi-jinks.  Shawn, Burton, the cops, and Shawn's dad are coming back and they know you know that they're not telling the truth.  We'd do more of that song, but we think we did it when the season finale aired, and as great a theme song as it is, we don't want you to think us one note even if the series obviously is not.  Where will this season lead us?  Will we find out more about Yin and Yang and they're connection with Shawn?  Is Shawn a psycho or is he just colorful?  There's so much we want to know and just like you, we'll be tuning in to find out.

Every good detective needs a nemesis - it's just one of those rules.  What makes "Psych" so odd is that Shawn Spencer might just have one too.  As you probably recall, season three ended with the unmasking of the Yin Yang killer, Mr. Yang (played by Ally Sheedy).  Ally Sheedy is listed as returning this week, but the episode is entitled 'Mr. Yin Presents.'  Mr. Yang was already evil so Mr. Yin can't be Mr. Yang's evil twin, and it wouldn't make much sense for Yin to be Yang's good twin.  What exactly is going on?  Only one way to find out.
