We know you want to know what it is that we, your humble content provider, can perceive.  Well, we'll tell you -- we perceive that "Perception" may be ending its second season tonight, but that it will be back for a third at some point in the not-too-distant future.  How do we know this?  That is the power of perception laid bare.  Either that or we read the press release about the Eric McCormack-starring series returning for a third season.  But then, that is a sort of perception, isn't it?

Well, here we are, the end of the summer portion of "Perception," the 10th episode of the third season.  After tonight, the show will disappear for a few months, reappearing (most likely) in winter with the final five episodes of the season.  We don't have a specific date for that return, but we're using our powers of perception to deduce it... that and the fact that last year it returned at the end of February.  See how Eric McCormack's final episode for now goes tonight.

The Eric McCormack series is returning tonight with the start of its third season.  The show features McCormack as a neuroscience professor with paranoid schizophrenia.  This is the moment when, normally, we'd make a joke, but we don't feel as though paranoid schizophrenia is the sort of thing you make a joke about... and no, we're not going to make a joke about not making a joke.  The series also stars Rachael Leigh COok, LeVar Burton, Kelly Rowan, and Arjay Smith.

Eric McCormack stars as a man named Daniel Pierce here in "Perception."  The show is all about Pierce and his attempts to hold his life together while also solving crimes and holding down a day job.  It isn't terribly easy for him, but you probably don't need us to tell you that.  You can probably sense that all on your own.  Or, to put it another way, you probably perceive it.  You have great powers of perception.  You can probably even see what we did there.  The one thing you won't know, unless you watch, is how season two of "Perception" ends.

We haven't seen a new episode of "Perception" since September 17th of last year, so you will be forgiven if you don't instantly recall the wonder and excitement you experienced watching Eric McCormack's television series about the professor who solves crimes and speaks to people who aren't there.  Trust us though, you experienced wonder and excitement.  We know because you were in our house just yesterday telling us all about the wonder and excitement you experienced.  You weren't?  You weren't in our house?  You know what we've done, we've confused ourselves with the main character in a series again.  We do that regularly.  Our apologies, but do trust us, Eric McCormack stars in "Perception."

Have you been watching "Perception" on a weekly basis?  We figured as much, and that's why we're suggesting you do so (again) tonight.  If you don't tune in regularly it's entirely possible that you'll have no idea who is real, who is a figment of Pierce's imagination, and who is a figment of your own imagination.  Seriously, we watched one or two episodes absolutely sure that Pierce was talking to someone (or thought he was talking to someone) only to find out that we imagined it all.  It is possible that we should seek treatment, but we'd much rather solve crimes instead.
