Tonight's episode of "Penny Dreadful" is entitled "What Death Can Join Together" which is similar in concept to the "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." We don't know if they're going all anti-Christ on us tonight or simply being clever, but it will be interesting to find out. Certainly, there is another possibility as well, and that is that we are simply reading too much into the title of the episode. We hope that isn't the case though. After all, if you're going to have Frankenstein and Dorian Gray and all these baddies on a show, why not amend Bible verses, too.

If you have been watching "Penny Dreadful," you're well aware that there have been some truly odd things goings on in the series. They have, as promised, reimagined many a classic horror story, intertwining them together into a single overarching narrative. That narrative ends tonight. Or, does it? Tonight is the season finale and that may mean that tonight will bring closure, but it also may mean that tonight will bring an abrupt left turn just before the credits role and leave us to wonder what will happen next.

Here we are, the Sunday night of a long weekend, a deliciously long weekend. It make sense, at least in our world, then for "Penny Dreadful" to do a super scary episode tonight. Think about it -- if they do super scary tonight and you can't sleep it will matter less tomorrow because you won't be too tired to function at your job, because it's a holiday. Okay, you could argue that we're offering bad logic, but maybe it's also the sort of logic by which someone might use an abnormal brain inside the body of a super strong nearly unstoppable creature. Think about it.
