When you hear about Ronald D. Moore creating a show you very well might presume that the show takes place in the future or on some other planet.  Well, Scotland is not another planet and the 18th Century is not the future but that is exactly where and when "Outlander" takes place.  But, that isn't to say that there isn't something of a sci-fi element, is it?  No, but we aren't going to say what, if any, sci-fi elements might be present.  You will just have to watch and see for yourself.

So, Ronald D. Moore, as we have mentioned in the past, is back with a new television series.  Of course, yes, the series isn't quite as new now what with the first season ending it's summer portion tonight and all, but don't worry, it's going to return.  Actually, it's kind of going to return twice.  It will return first with the back half of season one at some point down the line and season two has already been ordered and that means we can look forward to seeing "Outlander" for some time to come.

Shot on location in Scotland, this new series is executive produced by Ronald D. Moore ("Battlestar Galactica") and is based upon the books by Diana Gabaldon.  It is described as having the varied "genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure in one epic tale."  The story revolves around Claire Randall who lives in 18th century Scotland and who is forced to marry someone she does not love.  From there... well, you'll just have to see.
