TV Network - The CWIf you've been following the news about "Mad Men," you're well aware that the show is going to take a wee bit longer to come back for new episodes than originally planned. We've observed that the change in schedule has ended up with a lot of "Mad Men" fans getting somewhat jittery. We're not going to suggest that "Nikita" is remotely in the same mold as "Mad Men," but Rich Sommer of "Mad Men" is guest starring on "Nikita" tonight which should provide the "Mad Men" obsessed with something of a hit or fix or maybe HitFix.

If you have watched this season of "Nikita," you have seen a somewhat different series than existed during the show's first two seasons. We don't offer that as a negative, simply a statement of fact. The question is whether or not today's finale is going to put the entire show into new territory once more (should it continue for a fourth year). We imagine that while there may not be quite as major a shift in direction, there will be some sort of change. It just feels like this is the sort of show that is going to twist things slightly at the end of every year. No?

Tonight, Nikita is going to suggest that the nice folks over at Division assassinate the President of Chad (played by Jonathan Adams). Alex isn't going to be playing along though and we're excited to see the seeds of discontent sewn once more over at Division. Plus, we're hoping that Nikita heads to Paris herself to do the job. Paris, the city of love, with Nikita. Yeah, that's the kind of thing we dream about even if we're there to kill someone with Nikita.

There will be, as we understand it, 22 episodes of "Nikita" this season, and tonight marks episode seven. That is outstanding, and it is oustanding in no small part because of that fact that tonight is only episode seven. It means that there is a whole lot of "Nikita" coming between now and May. And, more "Nikita" means more Nikita and there's nothing wrong with that. We suggest you start watching tonight (if you haven't started watching already), it's really not too late to get involved.

Have you been staying up late at night, fretting about when Owen is going to return to the show? Have you been unable to eat dinner worrying about where Owen is? Have you completely failed to be able to shower because Owen hasn't been on "Nikita?" Have you been constipated because... okay, sorry, we totally went too far on that, didn't we? But, no matter what your incapacitation has been because of a lack of Owen, you'll be cured tonight. Owen is back. Get excited, very excited.

Wow, that was quite the season finale for "Nikita" last year, no? It was, as the kids say, a 'game changer,' kind of like the first season finale was as well. Where is the series going to go from here? What is going to happen to Nikita now? Whom will she fight? Will she still get to wear skimpy outfits? And what of her friends and enemies? Will they still be friends and enemies or will they reverse and become enemies and friends? Those mysteries and more start to unfold tonight.

And thus we arrive at the second season finale for "Nikita." Oh, you can twist, you can turn, you can deliver one nonsensical plot after the next, but no matter what you do, you will still eventually hit that season finale. Now, Nikita has given it a pretty good go here--she's fought the good fight--but even she has to face the terror of the season finale. What will she do in the face of this unmovable wall? Tonight we will find out.

Twists and turns, twists and turns. If there is one thing we can count on in this series, it's twists and turns. Now, that's not always because the show changes up the plot on us (although that certainly does occur), sometimes it's just because Nikita and company go into dark places with lots of corners and they run around the corners thus creating the twists and turns. Quite honestly, the plots twists and turns tend to be more satisfying in the long term, but there's nothing wrong with a good chase. Hopefully we get one here for the fall finale.

On tonight's episode of "Nikita," Katheryn Winnick will be guest starring as Nikita's old partner who has somehow managed to escape from a Turkish prison. If "Midnight Express" taught us anything, it's that you don't want to be in a Turkish prison... ever. We shudder to think what a Division person would have had to undergo in a Turkish prison, but if we're being honest, we also can't be terribly surprised that a Division person escaped from a Turkish prison. Hopefully we get to see how Kelly (Winnick's character) went about the escape.

With "Smallville" nothing but a fond memory, The CW has been left to revamp its Friday night lineup, and said new lineup begins tonight with "Nikita." As you will undoubtedly recall, this is a reimagining of the series which was a reimagining of the movie that was a reimagining of the other movie... or something like that. The first season of the series was full of betrayals and reversals and secrets coming to the fore, and we fully expect season one to contain a whole lot more of the same. Plus, it features some good-looking people and we don't mind watching that on a Friday night.

Nikita is like the legend that never dies. She's in a movie.  There's a U.S. spinoff of the movie.  There's a series based on the original movie (sort of). Now there's a series based on the series (sort of). The upshot of all that is that this series features a new Nikita trying to find her way in a shadowy world of spies, lies, and... let's say cries (because it rhymes) as she seeks revenge for past wrongs. We expect twists, turns, and maybe even a loop-the-loop as the story unfolds and you should too.
