Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

As is widely evident by now (what with this being the fourth episode and all), Coulson lives. And, he doesn't just live, Coulson thrives. Coulson excels. Coulson makes those around him better. If we could be anyone, it would be, well, it would be James Bond, but if we couldn't be James Bond, we could be Phil Coulson. Watch him tonight, and see if you're not impressed by the way he carries himself, by the way he pulls the team along, by the way he assuages fears, eases doubts, and allows himself to be helped when it's needed. Plus, he did a bunch of episodes of "The West Wing," and we love that show.

As we have told you before (and will continue to tell you), there are some television series which do not take a break for the Olympics, which do not fear the ratings juggernaut that is the every-other-year event. Now, if there's anyone out there who doesn't fear a juggernaut (or Juggernaut) and who is on regularly scheduled television, it's the folks on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." If we weren't only talking regularly scheduled television you could probably thrown the nice X-Men folks into the mix, but they're not on TV regularly anymore, so you have to go with the folks at S.H.I.E.L.D.

Tonight, we are getting a new episode of "S.H.I.E.L.D." and, personally, we're hoping for a reveal about whatever weirdness occurred with Coulson following his "Death" prior to the Battle of New York (we have our theories). We aren't going to promise you that such secrets will be revealed, but every week we have our fingers crossed and tune in, hoping against hope, that answers will be forthcoming. We think Melinda May knows more than she's saying, but it may take the return of Robin Sparkles for answers to be delivered (we have no information that she'll be back tonight).

Last week, ABC premiered the most hyped, most talked about, most anticipated new show of the fall season. You had heard about it for months; you had read about it; you had seen, roughly speaking, 78 million clips. There was a lot riding on last week's episode. Will this, the second episode, be noticeably different? Last week was full of introductions and explanations, will this week be more of what we can expect from the series on a regular basis? And, were you impressed enough last week to tune back in this week?
