Well, this is it. We have told you more than once this season that you wanted to be watching "Maron" for the heart and humor Marc Maron and company infuse into every episode. We certainly hope that you've taken us up on the suggestion because this is the season finale. It isn't that you shouldn't tune in tonight if you haven't seen previous episodes, it's just that if you do tune in for the first time ever tonight, you're going to be sad that it's your first time watching and yet still the last episode of the year.

Marc Maron is, perhaps, best known for his WTF podcast, but that is certainly not the only thing which Maron does. Come on, you don't get to be a multi-hyphenate kind of guy if you only do one thing, and Maron is a multi-hyphenate kind of guy. One of the other things he has going on is this half-hour comedy series which also features Judd Hirsch (amongst others). The season is more than halfway done, but we would bet if you tune in, you will still find it all rather enjoyable and humorous.

Do you ever get confused by shows where the title is the same as the name of a character which is the same as the name of an actor? Yeah, if you do, this may not be the greatest of series for you to watch. If, however, you like funny and smart series about funny and smart people, well, in that case you probably would like to watch because Maron is just that -- smart and funny. It is also that other thing about the title of the series being the same as a character and an actor, but still, you should be watching.

Do you realize that it's been nearly a year since the last new episode of "Maron?" Well, even if you haven't realized it, it has been, but that drought ends tonight. Tonight, we're getting the first of 13 new episodes of the series which focuses on the life of podcaster Marc Maron. Expect to see a whole bunch set of hijinks this season, including--we're told--a moment when the whole family actually has to live together. Maron acts as a creator and an executive producer on the series, which also finds Denis Leary as an EP.

Do you remember way back when, when we told you this series was starting (that would have been May 3rd)? We suggested that you watch because Marc Maron is a funny guy and we tend to like the notion of a funny guy playing a funny version of themselves with funny things happening and a funny supporting cast. That is, in fact, just what "Maron" is -- we aren't going to suggest that everything on the show works, but enough works that it's really something you should watch, even if this is the last episode of the season. So, tune in and enjoy one last time (or one first time if you've never seen it before).
