There's actually something nice about an anthology series which puts some of our favorite stars on television on a weekly basis. Take Michelle Trachtenberg for example, we've liked her since she first walked into Buffy's room in the season five premiere making like she'd been there all along. What a great television moment, what fun! We don't expect that anything like that will happen tonight on "Love Bites," it would make much sense if it did, but we do fully expect a whole lot of great memories to bubble to the surface watching the guest stars.

What was initially conceived as... well, honestly who remembers anymore. "Love Bites" ended up going through a number of iterations before it morphed into its current--and final--one. On another world, in another life, "Love Bites" could have ended up as a massively successful franchise, one which could have reinvigorated the dramatic anthology series. That, however, is not this world and not this time. Tonight marks the "Love Bites" finale which means that you dedicated fans have one last chance to see a new episode and the rest of you have one more opportunity to contemplate what could have been.

This week's episode of "Love Bites" is entitled 'Stand and Deliver,' which in our world means that it really ought to have Edward James Olmos in it (and maybe Lou Diamond Phillips too). There ought to be a whole story about learning calculus. It doesn't and there isn't. Instead, we've got Beau Bridges and Chris Parnell and as far as we know, neither will be portraying Jaime Escalante. We will forgive the episode its name, but only because they keep bringing great guest stars on a weekly basis and that trend is continuing tonight.
