    London 2012 Olympics: Closing Ceremony

    Aug 12, 2012

    TV Network - NBC

The Closing Ceremony celebrates the achievements of athletes at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and includes a Handover to the next Host City, Rio de Janeiro, for the 2016 Olympic Games. It will be titled ‘A Symphony of British Music’, and is meant to celebrate the fact that music has been one of Britain’s strongest cultural exports over the last 50 years.

The March of the Athletes showcases the athletes marching into the stadium all together, and not by nationality, to show the world coming together as one nation.  The ceremony will conclude with the extinguishing of the Olympic Flame signifying the end of the 2012 Games.
