Sometimes you just need a vacation and, quite frankly, there's no place we'd rather go on vacation than Hawaii. At least, there's no place we'd rather go for a fun, relaxing vacation than Hawaii; there are plenty of educational vacations we'd like to take as well, ones that would have us explore ancient ruins and learn about other cultures. Not that Hawaii doesn't allow for that, but as far as we can tell, Hawaii vacations generally deal with shaved ice, surfing, bikinis, drug smuggling, weapons dealing, and murder. At least, every time we watch "Hawaii Five-0" that's what we see. We'll be watching tonight's special Sunday night episode to see if that doesn't hold true.

Raise your hand if, upon hearing about this series, you finally thought that after the doctor one and the vampire one, Alex O'Loughlin's revamped, reenvisioned "Hawaii Five-0" series would be the one which stuck? Well, whether you did or you didn't, it has -- "Hawaii Five-0" is here and it's here to stay (for the foreseeable future). What will season three bring? Well, we suggest that there will be shootouts, some fisticuffs, and an ever-deepening mystery about McGarrett's daddy.

Ed Asner has been around forever. Want proof? Tonight, Ed Asner is going to be on the new "Hawaii Five-0," playing the same diamond smuggler he portrayed on the old "Hawaii Five-0" back in 1975. If you watched the original, you may remember the character's name, because it's awesome -- August March (see, those are two different months, awesome, right?). Back in the day, March got 30 years for diamond smuggling and, well, it's more than 30 years later, so March is free and can now, maybe, help the cops just a little bit.

We are actually quite sad that "Heroes" is no longer on the air, and one of the main reasons for that is that Masi Oka is no longer on our TVs on an every-other-week basis (because that's how often he tended to be on "Heroes"). Well, we're going to be able to take some solace this week as Masi Oka himself is going to be a guest star on "Hawaii Five-0." That's right, the guy from "Heroes" is going to be on the show with the guy from the vampire show, the girl from "BSG," the guy from the "Ocean's" movies, and the one from "Lost." Happy days are here again.
