We have gotten repeats of "Happy Endings" this summer which makes some sense (the show is coming back, the network wants the audience to know the show, etc.), but tonight we're getting a new episode. That's right, it's nearly the end of August and for some reason ABC is airing a new episode of "Happy Endings." We aren't complaining about this in any way, in fact we think it's awesome and are very much looking forward to some new jokes. At least we hope they're new jokes, they could very well be old jokes in a new episode. We'll have to see.

We have been warning you about this night roughly since "Happy Endings" moved to its Friday home and now the day is finally upon us -- season three is ending tonight. While that is certainly sad, perhaps your distress will be somewhat tempered with the knowledge that we're getting not one episode with which to end the season, but rather two. Oh yes, it's true, the show is giving us back-to-back episodes tonight which should be swell. Plus, maybe if the show doesn't get a fourth season Coach will wind up back on "New Girl."

You are aware that ABC has asked fans of "Happy Endings" to attempt to save the show, right? Now, as odd as it might be for the network to request a 'save our show' campaign, one of the best ways you can actually save the show is by watching. We know, that seems radical, but it's true -- watching the show despite its move to Friday nights will help convince ABC that people like the show and will watch it. Be sure to tune in to tonight's double episodes as the season finale isn't all that far off.

Wednesdays, Tuesdays, Sundays, and now Fridays. In under 12 months, "Happy Endings" has found itself airing new episodes on four different nights of the week. The current plan is to have "Happy Endings" air back-to-back episodes every Friday until the end of April and it's third season finale. The downside of this? The season finale isn't all that far off. The upside? Back-to-back episodes every Friday night. That is going to make the conclusion of this season one... wait for it... happy ending.

When a pop star purchases a dress at Alex's store, Penny turns it into a press opportunity; Max has an identity crisis, so Jane and Derrick take him to gay bars to help find his niche; Brad and Dave try to be "men" and fix things around the house.

As we stated in our little one sentence description, tonight is the fall ending of the show. Some people would call it a finale, but we really prefer 'ending' because the show is called "Happy Endings" (you know that already, didn't you?). What will this ending bring? What will come of of their non-Christmasy celebrations? We don't know. We really don't know, but we are hugely excited to find out. And, there is but one way to do that (outside of reading a review/recap the next day) and that is to watch. So, watch. Learn why they quit Christmas and see what Christmas does to fight back.

You might not have expected "Happy Endings" to get to a third season, but some of that may be because you didn't expect it to get to a second either. We aren't going to fault you for analysis, it was based on some pretty decent logical assumptions, they just happened to be wrong. What we recommend you do is not focus on how you were wrong but rather all the humor the series has to offer. Don't think about what "New Girl" might have been had "Happy Endings" not gotten to season two, but rather what "Happy Endings" is here in season three.

This is the second season finale for "Happy Endings," and it is going to feature not one but three guest stars (okay, at least two of them have been on before, but that's not relevant). On tonight's finale we're going to get to see Brian Austin Green, Stephen Guarino, and Larry Wilmore. If you have never given "Happy Endings" a chance, it may be worth doing so tonight. Yes, this is the season finale so there are no more new episodes for a while, but if you like it, it could work out to be your very own happy ending. Isn't that a chance worth taking?

Sometimes when you have guest stars on a show they play specific characters, and sometimes you have guest stars who play themselves. Tonight, both Brent Musburger and Fed Savage will be on "Happy Endings," and they'll both be playing themselves. We aren't sure that they're going to be themselves themselves and not a comedic version of themselves, but they'll both be on as some version of themselves. And, for what it's worth, Savage is also directing the episode (no, Musburger didn't write it, but that would be awesome).

We were going to make some ridiculous joke about a new beginning for "Happy Endings," but not only does that seem obvious, it also seems like the exact sort of joke that we would have made last season about the show. We wouldn't dare want to repeat ourselves, so we won't make that joke. Instead, let us just point out that this is the comedy left standing after last year's many-couples-at-different-stages-in-their-relationships glut. We would try to tell you what happened last season on the show, but it was all out of order so we can't quite suss it out. We can tell you this however, there were lots of couples in different stages in their relationship.
