The b**** is back!
Georgina Sparks, who caused so much trouble in the first season of "Gossip Girl," returns, as Michelle Trachtenberg starts a four-episode arc on The CW teen soap.

For six seasons we have gotten to see this group of entitled rich kids grow into a group of entitled young adults... or something like that. After all the backstabbing and drug/alcohol fueled rages and various redemptions, "Gossip Girl" is ending. Tonight's two hour finale represents the last time--barring any reunion specials in 10 years--we'll see these characters doing their thing. Tune in tonight and watch it all end. Plus, we'll be getting a look at the upcoming "The Carrie Diaries."

As so many TV shows before "Gossip Girl" have found out, nothing lasts forever. Tonight begins the last season of "Gossip Girl," and no, don't expect some sort of sequel called "Gossip Young Woman" to be starting once "Gossip Girl" ends. Furthermore, our understanding is that the show won't have a full 22 episode season, that it's looking at something closer to a dozen episodes, but, who knows, maybe those Upper East Side kids can give some big bucks to the network and get a reprieve.

How is it that we like this show so much? What is it about watching rich, snotty, snobby kids that is so enjoyable? Okay, obviously not everyone on this show quite fits that category, but we all know that a significant number do, and in fact, the whole idea is based on these posh kids whose weekly allowances are larger than our entire bank account. We ask you now, what trouble do you think the kids will get up to in the new season? They have already confronted some pretty serious issues, but we're hoping that the producers will still be able to ratchet things up for the new season.

With his stint on "Parenthood" finished (at least until the show decides that they need ot bring him back which is something you should never discount), Billy Baldwin is making another appearance on "Gossip Girl." If our memory hasn't failed us, we haven't seen Baldwin on the series since May of last year, which in "Gossip Girl" time is what, six lifetimes ago? Will anyone even recognize him anymore? We imagine so, but we won't state that we're 100% convinced of the fact, we just won't.

We are just dying for a little gossip and we'd kill for a whole lot of it. "Gossip Girl" is finally back with new episodes starting tonight and it couldn't have returned at a better time. By our calculations, the last new episode of the show aired on December 6, meaning that we've gone weeks on end without our "Gossip Girl" fix. Okay, fine, maybe it's not dignified for us to beg and plead and cajole the powers that be to get new episodes, but that's exactly what we were about to do. Can you think how that would have hurt our reputation? Thank goodness it didn't come to that, because we're not sure the characters would approve of our begging.

We could, at this very moment, tell you all about what is going to happen in this episode, how Sam Robards will be on and how somebody will have a family member who will end up going to the hospital, but we'd rather not. Instead, we'd much rather focus on how one of the stars we know and watch, Tate Donovan, is going to be directing this week. After all, doesn't someone go to the hospital or threaten to go to the hospital or go to the poor house or threaten to go to the poor house just about every week on "Gossip Girl?" It is Tate Donovan that makes this week special, Tate Donovan.

We ask you - how is Tim Gunn possibly going to make this appearance work? Wow, okay, forget that, we take it back, we're not going to ask you that at all, it made us feel kind of dirty to utter those words. Of course Tim Gunn is going to be on, and why shouldn't he be on, the show is so much about fashion and Gunn's name is pretty much synonymous with fashion. If it wasn't, Barney Stinson wouldn't use Gunn as his personal tailor, and Stinson does, so Gunn's name is. Oh, and Taylor Momsen is back tonight too.

It just seems so perfect, doesn't it? A new season of "Gossip Girl" will start right after the new season of "90210." You get your West Coast teenage richie rich backstabbing followed immediately by your East Coast teenage richie rich backstabbing. We kind of think that they ought to do a single two hour series with a crossovers in the plots, particularly as these folks jet everywhere all the time. Forget texting from NY to CA, they'll just hop on Daddy's gulfstream and dish the dirt in person. Until then though we will simply content ourselves with the separate shows airing back-to-back.

We assume that eventually everyone will learn that gossip hurts people and that whether you're a girl or a guy, whether you're delivering it or receiving it, believing it or denying it, it isn't a terribly nice thing to have to deal with. But, we hope that time doesn't come terribly soon, because if there was no gossip there could be no "Gossip Girl," and we'd find that sad. We are already saddened by the fact that this is the season finale and after this episode there will be no more new ones until the fall, we simply don't think we could take the end of gossip as a whole (not that we condone it).

Tyra Banks guest stars on The CW's "Gossip Girl."
Want more excitement? Hilary Duff guest stars on "Gossip Girl"!
Duff plays Olivia, a movie star who decides to enroll at NYU and finds herself as Vanessa's roommate.
Banks, meanwhile, plays Ursula, an actress co-starring in Olivia's new movie. She befriends Serena.
The episode was directed by Mark Piznarski, who also directed the "Gossip Girl" pilot.

"Gossip Girl" travels back to the 1980s for "Valley Girls," an episode designed as a backdoor pilot for a possible fall spinoff.
The CW show has brought out the big guns, with series co-creators Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz writing the script and pilot director Mark Piznarski directing. Brittany Snow stars as Lily Rhodes, the 17-year-old version of Kelly Rutherford's Lily van der Woodsen. Also appearing in the flashback episode are Krysten Ritter, Andrew McCarthy, Cynthia Watros and, for reasons we can't actually explain, No Doubt.

The CW's "Gossip Girl" gets so much credit for its fashions, for its attractive cast, for its catty dialogue, but very few people talk about what we find most amusing about the show: It's episode titled.
Following after episodes titled "Seder Anything" and "Southern Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," this week's episode is titled "The Wrath of Con."
See? Clever stuff.
If that's not enough, Michelle Trachtenberg returns as Georgina and we remain skeptical that her conversion experience is the real deal. Because if it is, she isn't going to be all that helpful in plotting a scheme with Blair and Serena.

"Gossip Girl" returns to The CW just in time to see Chuck Bass go native.
In the fall finale of "Gossip Girl," Serena went on vacation with her new boyfriend, Blair's mother got married and everybody learned Lily van der Woodsen's dark secret. But mostly, Chuck Bass started to melt down after his father's death.
Expect more of Ed Westwick doing Hamlet at the season resumes.
