  Listen, HBO does not want "Girls" to get lost in the (Super Bowl) shuffle.  Consequently, you've been able to watch this week's episode of "Girls" early on the HBO To Go app, and they're going to premiere it on TV tonight instead of tomorrow.  The show will still air tomorrow night if you want to watch it then, but if you're home today you can totally watch the episode this very evening (at 10:05pm).  "Enlightened" is following the same course (and is following "Girls" tonight).  Yes, it does mean that you have to be home on a Saturday night and you have to think about how the girls on "Girls" might judge you for that, but still, you can watch it.

  Did we highlight "Girls" last week, suggesting that you ought to watch because it was the premiere?  Yes, we did, and we're highlighting it again this week because you ought to watch it again even though it's not the premiere.  Listen, these cable series have a short season, "Girls" is going to have finished season two before the end of March and then you're going to have to wait an awful long time for the next new episode... and you're going to be sad about that.  Don't make the mistake of skipping a new episode when you have a chance to watch one, you'll regret it

  As stated in the press release this series 'takes a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of women in their early 20s.'  Now, while we may not be a woman, we do understand where that sort of sentiment is coming from.  One's 20s, no matter their sex, are really not that easy.  You're finishing school (or trying to extend your stay and prevent the real world from encroaching) or your starting your career and looking for a relationship and goodness knows what else and you're finding out that life is hard.  Things simply don't come easily to most of us, and that's what this show is about.  Watch it, you just may find that you like it.

  There is, unquestionably, a certain sadness that strikes one as they look at tonight's schedule -- there may be a couple of premieres, but it feels like there's an awfully large number of finales.  As for "Girls," which is airing one of those finales, we want to make sure you're not all that sad.  Yes, the fact that it's the finale may be distressing, but the show will definitely be back next year.  So, relax, take a deep breath, and just accept whatever awesome this finale has to offer.

  Many out there may take umbrage to the title of this series, "Girls."  The show focuses on a group of women in their 20s in New York City, but apparently they're going to be known as 'girls.'  Please, should you be one of the umbrage-taking individuals, don't write us letters to complain, as much as we would like the ability to title series, we aren't given that opportunity.  Yes, we could have written the show title for the event as "Ladies" or "Young Ladies" or something like that, but that wouldn't have reflected the actual name of the show and probably would have confused a whole lot of people.
