The home design business is, it seems, going well for Jeff Lewis and his people, but it going well doesn't actually necessarily mean that everyone on this series is happy. We don't know if Jeff Lewis and company function better when they're living that sort of a high stress life or if things appear moderately more stressful than they truly are because it works better on TV that way, but people on this show get stressed out. Actually, some would say they flip out. If they weren't high stress folks, the series wouldn't be as much fun, and it is fun. The new season starts tonight.

As you may have been aware, over on other networks, there are a whole lot of people flipping out over something they call 'returns.' The reason we appreciate Bravo so much is that tonight on the network, as though they're keeping the theme, there's this dude name Jeff Lewis and he's totally flipping out. He flips out about returns, he flips out about expenses, he flips out about his coffee not being the right temperature. We don't think he'll have a commentary on the Electoral College tonight, but who knows, maybe he will (we imagine he flips out over that sort of thing too)

Do you realize how long it's been since the last new episode of "Flipping Out" aired? By our count (and we've totally and completely cheated to get you this information) the last new episode of the series was nearly a full year ago. In fact, we believe it was 9/13/11 for the season five reunion episode and 9/6/11 for regular old episode. That is a really long time. With how stressed out Jeff Lewis gets, we would almost assume that he's aged 10 years during that time. Something tells us though that Jeff will look just as slick and polished as ever tonight. Will Zoila?

We just love the idea of these sorts of shows, watching people with type-A personalities trying to run a business with grand schemes despite everything which may occur to derail their plans (including those who work for them). It's fun, it's just plain fun. It does always make us wonder whether things have been orchestrated by the producers in order for the derailments (and therefore the drama) to occur. Maybe not though, maybe it's the subconscious mind of those on the team who recognize that things have to be dramatic for people to want to watch. Whatever the case may be, it's just plain fun to watch.

Last season Jeff Lewis spent a whole lot of time changing his business over from house flipping to interior design. Well, that change has, we're told, been massively successful which means that the main focus of our show, good old Jeff, has a whole new thing to be stressed about. What would this series be if Jeff Lewis weren't flipping out? We know that the title was supposed to be about both his attitude and his career, but we don't care. As long as Jeff has something to go off on, we're in.

One of the things that most impresses us about Bravo's television lineup in general - and this show in particular - is the ability of the people on it to create ridiculous amounts of drama out of the smallest issue. Seriously, watch this season finale, you'll see - there's going to be some minor issue that spirals out of control into a huge kerfuffle. More amazingly, it's all going to happen so quickly and smoothly that you're not going to be able to realize when it went from being something small to being something insane. It's just wonderful to watch.
