Tonight, on the one hour season premiere of "Family Guy," Peter and the family head over to a town called Springfield where they chill with the Simpson family.  Oh yes, that's right, this is the famous crossover episode about which you've heard so much.  Or, presumably you've heard about it.  But, let us not worry about whether you have or haven't, fighting about that would be like fighting about whether Pawtucket or Duff is the best beer.  A fight which , yes, will in fact occur.

On tonight's back-to-back episodes of "Family Guy," Stewie finally takes over the entire universe.  He formulates a master plan which, somehow, leads to massive success and places his office atop the Sphinx (apparently he likes the view).  Okay, sorry, that is in no way true.  Well, it could be, but we have no evidence whatsoever to support the notion, we made it all up.  Even so, we think it would be a pretty sweet way for the show to end the season, don't you?  You really ought to tune in and see if our shot in the dark is anywhere near accurate.  Hey, it could happen.  It won't, but it could.

Tonight's episode, as all good holiday episodes should, revolves around the Nativity story.  Now, of course, this is "Family Guy" which means that it isn't quite going to be the version of the Nativity story people know, love, and believe (if you're someone who believes it).  See, this is Peter telling the Nativity story.  We don't exactly know what role Ryan Reynolds is going to be playing in the tale, but we do know he'll be present.  Maybe he'll be one of the wise men.

Wow.  "Family Guy" is 200 episodes old today.  We have done a little bit of math on that, and as it turns out, this means that if you add up the number of fart jokes, times Stewie has tried to take over the world, and moronic things that dear old dad has said, your brain would explode.  Figuratively.  Your brain would figuratively explode due to the high number of times those things have occurred on the series.  What is better than that though is the fact that the show is still funny.  Tune in to tonight's special episode and see just how funny.

The once cancelled but eventually returned something of a cult show but has since continued for years.  The truly amazing thing about the "Family Guy" story is that Stewie hasn't yet managed to conquer the world (and hang on to it).  No, seriously, how is it that the little guy - despite being a baby - doesn't rule us all? Or, do you think that maybe he does and that we just don't know because he does it so well?  That's a tale that I could definitely buy.
