Starring Laura Dern, HBO's "Enlightened" attempts to show us the truth about the world, the way things really are and how they should become. Or not. Listen, it's none of those funny but serious and heartbreaking shows that are all the rage these days (by which we mean nothing negative whatsoever, it's just the en vogue style). Dern plays a woman who is a tad disheartened with a company and kind of wants to bring them down due to their 'greed and corruption.' Will she be able to do it and if she does, what will she do next? These questions just may be answered this season on the series.

Laura Dern, Luke Wilson, and Diane Ladd lead the cast in this dramedy. Is that the right term, dramedy? Like many other folks out there we sometimes have trouble defining what category 30 minute not straight comedies fall into. Would that we were enlightened. Would that we had some sort of spiritual awakening. We don't really want to be Laura Dern (not that there's anything wrong with that) nor her character (not that there's anything wrong with that either), but to have some sort of revelation seems very, very cool. Not necessarily comedy cool, not necessarily drama cool, but cool. Wait... is this a straight comedy after all? Sometimes we get confused. We hope our enlightenment is not that far off.

We don't know if you've been watching "Enlightened" throughout the entire course of its first season, but if you have, you may just have learned something. If you have watched from episode one straight through tonight's episode 10, it's just possible that you will have found out a thing or two about the world, about our place in it, and about everyone's mental health. That's right, if you've been watching "Enlightened," it's very possible that you've become moderately... well... enlightened.
