People love "Duck Dynasty," and if you've ever tuned in yourself you may have a pretty good idea why. Is it the most real of reality series? No, it probably isn't, but does that truly matter? Are you watching it because it's "real" or because it's super fun and funny? We are betting on the fun and funny part. Plus, we still can't get over the notion of turning the making of duck calls into such an incredibly massive business. We are still hoping to figure out what we can turn into such a business. Can pig calls make money? How do you make a pig call?

What really takes place with "Duck Dynasty?" What is it that we don't get to see? We will get a portion of the answer to that tonight on a "Behind the Quack" special. We say a portion because the series airs on A&E and the special airs as a part of that series and so it might not necessarily be wholly objective. Of course, not wholly objective isn't the same as not interesting. W atch and see for yourself.

Eventually, one imagines, the phenomenon that is "Ducky Dynasty" is going to wane. But, until that happens, it is pretty safe to assume that A&E is going to keep riding it, and why shouldn't they? Ah, yes, there was that matter about a Robertson speaking his mind in a way that many would consider offensive. We aren't, as we said last time, going to get involved in that discussion. Even so, the sixth season premieres tonight and the Robertsons are sure to be up to their usual shenanigans.

Are you a "Duck Dynasty" fan? If you are, we do have some relatively sad news -- the season is ending tonight. We assume that it will return for a new season down the line, but for now, this is it. A&E will, one surmises look at the numbers, look at the controversy, and then make the decision as to whether or not to blow their whistle and have the Robertsons line up once more. It is, of course, not outside the realm of possibility that even if A&E doesn't bring back the show, some other network will see potential in the clan.

Okay, yes, it's true that we just recently told you that the "Duck Dynasty" season was over and now, here we are, saying that there's a new episode. As far as we can tell, this episode doesn't actually count as part of the season as it's a Christmas special. Want to know how the Robertsons celebrate Christmas? Want to know if they use those duck calls to wind up with one of the greatest duck-based feasts you've ever seen? Want to know if they have a special call that gets turduckens to flock to their door? Learn tonight.

You know "Duck Dynasty." You love "Duck Dynasty." The ratings for "Duck Dynasty" are very good (or have been in the past, we'll see how tonight's episode does tomorrow). The story told here in this reality show is as old as time -- family starts a duck call business and goes from making a living to making millions. They then get their own inspired-by-reality television show and everyone watches and loves them. See? As old as time, and not only that, fun too, right? If you haven't watched the series thus far, tonight, the premiere of the new season, is the perfect time to start.

Did you know that "Duck Dynasty" is A&E's most watched series? We aren't sure what metric they're using to calculate that but we can tell you that the season two finale was seen by 6.5 million viewers and an A&E record of 3.9 million adults 18-49 (so probably 18-49 would be why they call it 'most watched'). The series is about a family that has made millions on duck calls. Despite their millions, the family is nice and down to earth and with issues all their own. The show is more about those issues, not them rolling around Scrooge McDuck style in a money bin.

As you well know (because, naturally, you watch "Duck Dynasty") there is family who doesn't necessarily look like what you would think millionaires would look like but who are, nonetheless, millionaires. Their trick--at least we think it's a trick--is that they didn't intend to become millionaires, they just intended to sell some duck calls so that people could do some truly great duck hunting. This family has turned a backyard business into nothing less than an multi-million dollar empire. Watch, see what they've done, and learn a thing or to. Ourselves, we're contemplating entering the squirrel call business.
