While BBC America has had a growing presence on television (or at least on our television) over the past few years, they have not yet premiered one of their very own scripted original series. They have had original non-scripted stuff and they've co-produced scripted programs, but they haven't had their very own scripted baby yet. That all changes tonight with the premiere of "Copper," a period series about cops in New York City in 1864. Except deceit and corruption and murder. So, it's kind of like NYC today, but with funnier clothes and slightly different accents.
