For a brief time, as you may recall, "Comic Book Men" didn't air on the same night as "The Walking Dead," but that was fixed this year.  This full season of the series has aired after the re-air of "Walking Dead" following the post-"Walking Dead" live show, "Talking Dead."  But, whether it airs right after "Walking" or after a reair of "Walking" on the same night, we care not, we simply think that Kevin Smith's band of comic book misfits works on this night.  Watch their season finale and see if this isn't the right place for them.

Once upon a time there was a sad, lonely, half-season for "Comic Book Men" where the show didn't air on the same night as "The Walking Dead."  Happily, that is now a distant member as the show has been back at its proper day and time for a full season.  It was the back half of season two that aired on a different night and "Comic Book Men" is back tonight for season four.  So, be prepared for a new season of nerd-tastic glory as the guys at the Stash buy and sell all manner of comic-based paraphernalia.

There was this moment, the second half of the second "Comic Book Men" season, that it aired at a more watchable time period (during primetime in fact), and did so on Thursday nights.  Is that better or worse than getting the post-post-post-"Walking Dead" slot?  We just don't know and now kind of forget why we were telling you all of this.  The upshot is that the second half of the third season of "Comic Book Men" is going to air post--post-post-"Walking Dead" and really, in our minds, helps keep that whole cool nerd thing going.  It's like they're programming for us.

Have you ever tuned in to this show?  It is a reality series--now heading into its third season--which features the guys who work in Kevin Smith's comic book shop doing the exact sort of things you would think guys who work in a comic book shop do.  Kevin Smith is even there talking to the guys about what's happening.  He isn't so much in the shop as at a microphone with the guys afterwards.  But, don't concern yourself about who is where and when, just worry about whether or not you know half as much about comics as the guys on this series.

In New Jersey there is a comic book store owned by the legendary Kevin Smith.  He doesn't actually show there on a regular basis, but he owns it and he has a collection of 'weird' people who run the police.  They then have this podcast where they tell us all about the stuff that goes down at the store... plus there are cameras there when whatever stuff goes down actually goes down.  That is what this show is, getting to see the people talk about what happened interspersed with seeing it actually taking place.  Watch, see for yourself, this is the season finale after all.

Okay, we call this a 'Kevin Smith series' despite the fact that Mr. Smith isn't really around for much of it -- he generally just talks to the guys at Silent Bob's Secret Stash about what's been going on there and then we get to see what's taken place.  We think that the scenes with discussions of prices for comic books and accompanying paraphernalia are really the show's best moments, but you'll also get to see great things like reenactments of comic book sequences and a whole lot of nerdy and semi-nerdy putdowns take place.

Somewhere in New Jersey (we don't know exactly where because we're scared of the state and consequently don't care to look too deeply into it) there is a comic book store called Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash.  The place is owned by Kevin Smith who leaves it in the semi-capable hands of friends plus this one other guy who just kind of hangs out there for no particular reason.  You get to see their antics and watch as Smith talks to them about all the nonsense which takes place at 'The Stash.'  We just hope they're nicer to Ming this season -- he's the butt of too many jokes.

Over the course of the first season of "Comic Book Men" we have not only learned a little bit about the comics, but also about the people who inhabit Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, the comic book shop owned by Kevin Smith.  We are, it must be said, not entirely sure whether we're more scared of the comic book villains or the some of the inhabitants of the shop (assuming that the comic book villains are real... obviously).  Both groups have, it seems, plans to control the universe (whether it's the real universe or simply the universe of the shop) and both have made a fair number of enemies.  Will the good side win in reality just as it does in the comics (usually)?  Tonight may reveal that answer.
