Every year, on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving, a huge number of people gather in Rockefeller Center (seriously, it's so packed you can't really walk through it with any sort of ease) and they watch as folks sing and honor and discuss and then, finally, light the famed Christmas Tree that sits between 30 Rockefeller Plaza and the ice skating rink. Just because we know that at some point during this hour the tree will be lit, that doesn't make the process any less exciting.
