As you may have noticed, we like our Eddie Cibrian.  When Eddie Cibrian is on television, we're watching Eddie Cibrian.  There's just something about Cibrian we find completely and totally compelling.  Maybe we're not the only ones, maybe that's why Kelli Giddish has her eyes fixed firmly on Cibrian this week, because she does have her eyes fixed on him this week.  For those paying attention, that would make Cibrian the bad guy of the week.  He plays a white collar criminal here, which makes some sense, but we'd kind of like to see him a little more hardcore next time out.

In all likelihood, after tonight there will be no new episodes of "Chase."  What we can say with a great deal more certainty is that there will be no more new first season episodes.  What that means for you is that tonight marks the absolute last opportunity you will have to watch the premiere of a first season episode.  Should you avail yourself of said opportunity?  Do fish swim?  Do birds fly?  Does the marshal always get their man or woman who is usually a relatively well known guest star and then force said man or woman to confess to a whole bunch of heinous crimes?  Maybe.

If the ratings are any indication, there aren't a whole lot of people out there who used to watch "Chase," but whatever group of hardcore dedicated fans there may be are going to be awfully happy that the series is returning tonight.  And, as it's a Saturday and there's very little original programming, those of you who never got the chance to watch the show before may just find that you love the Kelli Giddish starring procedural.  She's a marshal who goes after a new baddie every week, chasing them down and bringing them to justice.  Plus, tonight's episode has Eric Mabius.

Man do we miss "Ugly Betty."  We miss the funny, we miss the almost funny, and we miss the fashion (we don't really miss the heart, but that's neither here nor there).  Eric Mabius, one of the stars of that series, is going to be putting in a guest star appearance tonight on "Chase."  Mabius will be playing a corrupt cop who preys on single mothers to get to their young daughters, which, if you think about it, is one of the things his character from "Ugly Betty" would really have appreciated.  There though it was more played for laughs than it will be here.  Here the U.S. Marshals are going to end up chasing him for it.

The thing we like about "Chase" is that it's the kind of series that allows for a new and interesting guest star of the week, every week.  As long as you're going to have a serious bad guy and give them a real part, why not go out and get yourself some good actors for the roles.  This week we're getting a bad couple of the week, with Yancey Arias and Lana Parilla fulfilling those roles.  They're a husband and wife duo this week that gets involved in drugs and murder, and if drugs, murder, and love don't make for a good television episode, we're just not sure what does.

Robert Knepper has played some pretty great bad guys.  He's been on "Prison Break," he's been on "Heroes," he's been on "Stargate Universe," and he's always doing some sort of evil.  Is it any wonder why Kelli Giddish's US Marshall is hot on his heels this week?  After all the bad stuff Knepper's characters have done throughout the course of space and time, isn't it logical to think that he would be appear on a most wanted list somewhere?  We're a little surprised that the guy bothered to go to Texas, but maybe he figured he could hide out in all that open space.
