"Breakout Kings" is one of those 'it takes a criminal to catch a criminal' series. Consequently, it features a bunch of criminals working in a task force under the direction of some police officers (or U.S. Marshals as the case may be) to catch other super bad criminals (and not super bad like "Super Bad," really super bad). Amongst others, the show stars Domenick Lombardozzi of "The Wire," and if that in and of itself is not a reason to tune in to at least one episode (like tonight's second season premiere), we don't know what is.

We never quite understood what kind of police Herc was trying to be on "The Wire," but we do know that we never imagined him ending up here on "Breakout Kings." Come on now, don't tell us that you don't see an actor from one show in another series and associate the two roles, especially when the two roles are similar (bringing down baddies). Sitting there and watching "Breakout Kings" to see what from Herc on "The Wire" Domenick Lombardozzi brings to his character, Ray Zancanelli, is one of the most fun things about this series. Give it a try tonight and see if it doesn't make things more fun.

If you recall, this is the series about the cons who are doing work for the law, but it's not like "Leverage." Here, the cons are more of a gritty bunch who use less humor and the cons on "Leverage" are more of the con men variety whereas these characters are more of the convict type. We're not suggesting that one type of show is better or worse, only that they are different and that this first type, the "Breakout Kings" type is ending its first season tonight.
