Politicians all have an end date.  Or, at the very least, an end game.  We don't know that Kelsey Grammer's Tom Kane will be reaching his end date or end game on tonight's episode, but we do know that tonight's episode marks the end game for the second season of the series.  We are hoping for a "Godfather"-like cleaning up of his enemies, something set to orchestral or operatic music and involving lots of bloody deaths.  This is Chicago and therefore Chicago-style politics, that sort of thing does happen.

Ah, the politician on a mission to eliminate the corrupt entities in their own government/political machine.  Is their anything more noble?  Is there anything more idealistic?  In the city of Chicago, is there anything more futile?  Kelsey Grammer's Mayor Tom Kane is going to attempt to clean up the town this season on "Boss," and we're excited to see how dirty he's going to have to get to do it.  Plus, we're hugely dying to know if he's going to be able to change the generally accepted notion of Chicago politics for the long term or if he's only going to be fixing things during his reign.

Kelsey Grammer on "Boss" is quite different than Kelsey Grammer on "Frasier," which, very oddly (and frankly we always had a problem with this), is very different than Kelsey Grammer on "Cheers."  However, as you may have noticed, the man is an actor and one of the things good actors do is portray different characters in different fashions.  Consequently, for Thomas Kane to be different than Frasier Crane on "Frasier" makes a whole lot of sense (Frasier being different than Frasier on "Frasier" and "Cheers" though is still just weird).  In any case, the "Boss" season finale is tonight and the show will be back with season two next year.
