Okay, it is certainly true that this episode is airing outside of the traditional close of the television season, but that doesn't mean... something. Ah, we had some trouble thinking about where we were going, but we got it -- it doesn't mean that it can't be a season finale, it's just not a season finale within the traditional season. Okay, yes, you already knew that, but that doesn't make it any less true. This Dana Delany series has been somewhat revamped for this year and has seen Mark Valley added to the cast. Those changes, however, haven't gotten a fourth season for the show. Tune in tonight, because this seems to be the last new episode we get.

The cast for "Body of Proof" is going to look a little different this year as Mark Valley is joining up, and whether you know Valley from "Boston Legal" or "Fringe" or "Keen Eddie," the fact remains that Mark Valley is Mark Valley and stands up for truth, justice, and the American way (unless he's not himself and a part of some evil alien plot we don't really get, but that won't happen here). Valley is going to be playing a former NYPD detective with whom Dana Delany's character once had a thing. Is a little romance headed our way? It just might happen.

There is a moment in every crime procedural when the season has to come to an end (okay, yes, that happens in every show, but you're really missing the point here if you focus on that, so let's not, shall we). Tonight is that night for "Body of Proof," and the series is going to have to answer that question which all shows which end their second season must answer -- how, exactly, is it that we want to go out? Cliffhanger? Blast from the past? Combo? "Body of Proof" is indeed going to go down the blast from the past route, but we won't know until 11:00pm if they've decided to do the cliffhanger bit too.

We can't say that we ever thought of Luke Perry as a CDC officer before, but tonight he's totally going to be one. There is, it seems, a virus outbreak on the show tonight and good old Luke Perry gets put in charge of the case. We know he's only playing a doctor on TV, but after tonight can we call him Dr. Perry and assume he knows everything about communicable diseases? We once asked Noah Wyle to look at our tonsils when we had a sore throat, and this wouldn't really be all that different, would it?
Tonight's episode is the first part of a two-part affair that will conclude next week.

Do you watch "Body of Proof?" Well, maybe you should. As you probably know, it stars Dana Delany, and why would you not want to watch Dana Delany on a regular basis? She really is quite good in general, and in particular here on "Body of Proof." Now, this particular week, the series guest stars Jamie Bamber. So... why the frak wouldn't you want to watch? You can frakking bet that we'll be watching what the frak goes down when Bamber appears. We know that he's going to be playing a character named Aiden Wells, but we're frakked if we can figure out who that may be on the show. Tonight we find out.
