  Back at the end of March, CBS handed down the official proclamation that "Blue Bloods" would return for a fourth season.  While not a particularly surprising statement, it had to be a comforting one nonetheless for "Blue Bloods" fans as well as the cast and crew.  We don't yet know where the series will air come next fall, but it is scheduled to finish out its third season here on Friday evenings.  Tonight is, we believe, episode 21 out of 23 this year, which means that things are moving forward at a rapid clip and they ought to be setting up any and all cliffhangers now.

  There is something wonderful about Tom Selleck, isn't there?  He is just this guy who makes you feel completely comfortable, like a big warm, cigar-smokey hug.  Of course, we wouldn't want to get on his bad side -- we've seen him get angry on this show, and it isn't pretty.  On tonight's third season premiere Richard Burgi ("Desperate Housewives") guest stars as a councilman.  Tune in tonight and see if the show isn't worth an hour of your evening, it's all cop drama fun.

  The notion of a secret society known as the Blue Templar has appeared repeatedly within this season of "Blue Bloods," and they're going to be back again in the season finale.  Well, let us not say that they're going to be back, let us rather suggest that they will again be discussed.  Who really knows if they'll be completely unmasked, if they're motives and structure and everything about them will be completely laid bare.  Oh, we've learned some things about them, but not everything and we hope that tonight we'll learn more.

  Fridays in the televisual world are known for their low HUT level (that would be "houses using television").  Put another way, folks don't watch much TV on Friday nights.  It is because of that we believe that you may not yet have seen the new Tom Selleck-Donnie Wahlberg series, "Blue Bloods."  CBS is in complete agreement with us and therefore are moving the series to Wednesdays for a few weeks, and that move starts tonight.  Expect tonight's episode to be very welcoming for newcomers such as yourself.  Perhaps Selleck will even give you a shout out for watching.
