Unless the Chenbot, CBS, and "Big Brother" are pulling a fast one on us, we should see another house guest depart "Big Brother" tonight. After all, this is Thursday night and Thursday night is the live eviction show. That means uncomfortable questions, splintering of contestants, and--fingers crossed--tears. We know we shouldn't like it when house guests cry, but we kind of do. Tell us honestly, does it amuse you as much as it does us? Are we terrible people because we revel in the misery of reality show contestants? Don't you too just a little? Isn't that really why you watch?

This is it. The end. The swan song. The shutting down of the house. The finale. The last episode of the season. Tonight, someone will win, and everyone else will be declared the not winners. Okay, most of them have already been declared not winners, but up until someone actually wins there's always a chance that they're going to drastically change the rules of the game and have a previously eliminated contestant walk away as the champion.

"Big Brother" aficionados, hear us -- tonight is the last Sunday night episode of the year. There is another episode this Wednesday and then a 90-minute extra-long episode the Wednesday after, that's it. We know it's been a long season, we know you've had to suffer through a lot to get to this point, but don't let that determination flag now. Don't surrender to disappointment at the way the season has unfolded. You can power through the rest of it. You must.
Sep 10, 2014TV Network - CBS
As of our writing, the remaining "Big Brother" schedule goes like this -- tonight, tomorrow night, Sunday, Wednesday, Wednesday. That's it. We are so quickly closing in on the final episode of "Big Brother" until next summer (or if the bottom falls out of all scripted programming on CBS and they decide to order another cycle sooner, but we don't see that as likely) that it's a little crazy. The season is ending soon, too soon if you ask us, and we recommend you suck out every morsel you possibly can now that time grows short.
Sep 04, 2014TV Network - CBS
Last night we told you that "Big Brother" was going to end in three weeks, now we're less than three weeks. It is, we kid you not, rapidly approaching. There are fewer and fewer people left in the house and the tension is only building. Do you remember just a few months back when the house was full and the relationships were just forming? Seems like so long ago now, doesn't it? Well, that's all behind us and there's not much more left.
Sep 03, 2014TV Network - CBS
On September 24th, "Big Brother" will declare a winner of this 16th season. It will do so in a 90 minute episode (paired that night with the season premiere of "Survivor"). It really isn't all that far away. You will, we suspect, spend much of that night unhappy, lamenting the loss of "Big Brother." We recommend, in order to minimize your distress, you squeeze out every last morsel of enjoyment this season. There is a new episode tonight, don't miss it.
Aug 31, 2014TV Network - CBS
Tonight, and we do find this amazing, is the 30th episode this season of "Big Brother," and yet it shows very few signs of slowing down. Oh, yes, we know that it is slowing down, that things are coming to a close in the not-too-distant future, but they aren't done yet. Tonight, the Sunday of a holiday weekend it may be, but that isn't going to stop Julie Chen and company from giving us a new hour of backstabbing, nail-biting, weird contest having fun.
Aug 28, 2014TV Network - CBS
You might think that when "Big Brother" is on back-to-back nights there might not be a whole lot to talk about on the second night, but you'd be wrong. Whether it's evictions or competitions or shenanigans, things progress rapidly on "Big Brother," and even if the series were on seven nights a week, Julie Chen and company would have little to no trouble filling the time. Watch this episode and see if we're wrong (spoiler alert: we're not).
Aug 20, 2014TV Network - CBS
We aren't going to lie to you, on a yearly basis we find ourselves surprised by the sheer volume of episodes that "Big Brother" puts out. Tonight, we hit episode 25 this season, and that is definitely an impressive number. Oh, the show is nowhere near finished for the season, but this is a nice round number and consequently we're here to highlight that and make sure you know where things stand.
Jul 27, 2014TV Network - CBS
Have you missed the new "Big Brother" house guests? We know that we have (even if we're writing this in advance). The last time we saw them was on Thursday (you know, last time except for the hours we've spent with the live feeds) and now it's Sunday and that means that something like 72 hours have passed. Goodness knows the sort of trouble that they could have gotten into over the course of 72 hours. And, thank goodness for the cameras, because otherwise, well, one truly shudders to think what might have gone down.
Jul 09, 2014TV Network - CBS
There is a joy in the regularity of "Big Brother," a happiness that we are allowed to experience three times a week (plus our constant monitoring of live feeds) over the summer as they run through something like 35 episodes in about three months. That happiness returns tonight with the weekly Wednesday airing of "Big Brother." Julie Chen will be present to break everything down and there just may be a breakdown as well.
Jul 03, 2014TV Network - CBS
The fantastic thing about a series airing three times a week is that after just over a week, you already are getting a pretty good handle on the various personalities. So, "Big Brother" may only have started eight or nine days ago, but this is already the fifth episode and not only have the houseguests gotten a good look at one another, but we've gotten a good look at them as well. Tune in tonight and see what Julie Chen has in store for us... and them.
Jun 26, 2014TV Network - CBS
Welcome to "Big Brother." Or, at least, the first Thursday night episode of "Big Brother" this season. Last night, as you well know, we got our first look into what the season might offer and the various folks we'll be spending three hours a week with this summer. Tonight, expect more of the same, but without the introductory stuff, tonight we get to dive right in with whatever host Julie Chen has to offer.
Jun 25, 2014TV Network - CBS
Through the years, for better or worse, "Big Brother" has brought us a number of notable contestants. Will this new crop of would-be winners go down in the annals of "Big Brother" lore, or will they all end up, well, eliminated from our minds five minutes after they walk out the front door of the "Big Brother" house? Julie Chen is returning as host this season and will be present tonight to let us in on what to expect from the new season.
Sep 18, 2013TV Network - CBS
No more Head of Household competitions. No more weekly Thursday evictions. No more people getting fired from their day job whilst inside the house due to statements that they've made on the show. This is it, the last episode of season 15 for "Big Brother." Julie Chen will be present during tonight's 90 minute episode (as she regularly is) in order to break it all down for us, tell us what to expect, and maybe pull a surprise or two out of her hat. If she's wearing a hat. Hopefully she's wearing a hat. She ought to always wear hats.
Sep 05, 2013TV Network - CBS
Labor Day is now in the rearview mirror and yet, "Big Brother" contestants are still lounging around, pretending like it's not the fall quite yet. Oh, they work from time to time, usually in an effort to convince folks that they ought to be allowed to lounge around more, but there isn't much time left. The season is, as we noted last week, soon drawing to a close and that means that soon enough, all these people--save the winner-are going to have to find gainful employment. Find out who is eliminated next tonight.
Aug 29, 2013TV Network - CBS
It has been a weird, wild, sometimes great and sometimes awful season of "Big Brother." We are not entirely sure that there's ever been a season quite like it before (at least in the U.S.). It is all winding down now however. The season finale is just about three weeks away (a hair less maybe, time and us don't quite see eye-to-eye always). The final pieces are being moved around, the remaining players have just a few last chances to make their case, and Julie Chen is going to be there to tell us all about it.
Aug 14, 2013TV Network - CBS
Who is going home this week? Which "Big Brother" contestant is going to be shown the door tomorrow night? You know someone is going home this week and we're now closer to the end of the season than the beginning, so the number of options are dwindling. Or, someone is going home unless no one goes home, and think about the havoc that could wreak.. Tonight's episode sets up tomorrow's elimination (if there is one) and tomorrow's elimination greatly affects what happens as we enter the home stretch of season 15. Every moment counts.
Aug 08, 2013TV Network - CBS
Not one, but two people will be going home tonight on "Big Brother." Well, let us amend that, two people are scheduled to go home on "Big Brother," there is always a chance that they'll change things up just for fun or look at some of the issues they've had this season with the housemates and just send everybody packing. You should absolutely be paying attention to what's gone down this season on "Big Brother." There have been some notable issues and the live show, as we see it, is really the chance to talk about it.
Jul 21, 2013TV Network - CBS
We don't know if you've been watching the thrice a week episodes or the livestreams or reading other bits of "Big Brother" recap/review stuff, but the season is in full swing. We have now gotten good looks at potential crazy, potential weird, and just outright different. We, in fact, have put together our list of favorites and you should be working on yours as well. Be sure to tune in tonight because, you know, it's "Big Brother" and if you can't have a little summer love for "Big Brother" in your hearts what kind of person are you?
Jul 03, 2013TV Network - CBS
Are you now in the swing of things? Do you have everything down? "Big Brother," as is tradition, is going to be airing three nights a week and they simply aren't going to care if it's the eve of a national holiday or not. We don't know if your municipality is one of the many that does fireworks on the eve of the 4th (seriously, when did that become a thing), but with a full week under the belt of these "Big Brother" housemates, we suggest to you that you can turn on CBS tonight and see a bunch of fireworks. If our understanding of group dynamics has taught us anything, now is when they're through with 'norming' and onto 'storming.'
Jul 02, 2013TV Network - CBS
We promise, as we may have implied (but never outright stated) on Sunday, that we won't tell you every single time a new "Big Brother" was on this season. That being said, this is the first Tuesday episode of the year and that makes it special in a first Tuesday episode kind of way. We highly recommend you tune in tonight as the group is still norming, the production folks are still finding their footing, thing could still go awry. Not with the host though, no, not with the one known as the Chenbot.
Jun 30, 2013TV Network - CBS
We don't know how essential it is to watch every single episode of "Big Brother" in a season--there are certainly a ton--but there is something to be said for watching regularly, watching at the opening of the season, and regularly checking in online if you haven't gotten to each and every episode. On the other hand, how could you not watch every episode? Are you really that busy this summer that you can't spend an hour three times a week with Julie Chen and the hilarious house guests? Come on, you know you love the series and tonight is the first Sunday of the season, are you really going to skip it?
Jun 26, 2013TV Network - CBS
There you were, just yesterday worrying to yourself that you'd have absolutely nothing to completely and totally obsess over this summer, and now today "Big Brother" is back. We fully expect that you're going to be busier than ever, watching Julie Chen and the houseguests three times a week, reading our recaps, and finding out just what is going on live in the house that you may or may not see during the three hours of primetime coverage. People, the summer is officially on us and you need look no further than CBS and the season premiere of "Big Brother" for proof of that.
Sep 19, 2012TV Network - CBS
For several weeks we have been telling you that this day is fast approaching. For several weeks we have warned you that "Big Brother" would be coming to a close soon. Well, that time is here, that day has arrived. Ladies and gentleman, the season finale of "Big Brother" is upon us. Tonight we will learn which of our final houseguests is going to win this season of the show and take home the prize. We are actually rooting for a huge switch and Julie Chen being declared the winner, but, we just don't see that happening. Maybe we can organize a write in campaign.
Sep 12, 2012TV Network - CBS
There are two possibilities when a show like "Big Brother" approaches its finale. The first is that you're more intrigued than ever and just dying to get through the rest of the season. The second is that you're ready to give up, that you no longer care to see what is happening, that you're beginning to fade. Don't let this second option be the one you choose -- get excited, get loud, go big. This season of "Big Brother" is reaching its crescendo, don't let it peak without you.
Sep 06, 2012TV Network - CBS
A whole lot has happened over the course of the first 24 episodes of "Big Brother," which is the exact sort of thing that you would expect to happen when you put a bunch of folks into a house together. There are, including tonight, a mere six episodes left this season, with the season finale airing on September 19. Please, if you've been watching the season to this point, don't give up now. And, if you haven't, things are going to be getting a lot more exciting at this point, you'll probably want to start watching.
Aug 22, 2012TV Network - CBS
Things progress awfully quickly on a television show when you're airing three episodes a week. It isn't that you can't miss an episode, it's just that you wouldn't want to. Putting people together in such close quarters for such an extended period of time (and booting folks out on a regular basis) makes things happen fast. What will this Wednesday's "Big Brother" bring? Well, honestly, we're hoping for betrayal and hatred and new found love and maybe even a surprise or two. Will we get that stuff? Fingers crossed, people, fingers crossed.
Aug 02, 2012TV Network - CBS
Does it feel like we regularly suggest watching "Big Brother?" Well, we do (regularly suggest watching it) and there are a couple of good reasons for that. First off, it's an incredibly fun series -- the insanity we regularly see displayed on the show makes us feel all cozy and warm in side. Second, it's on... a lot... it's on a whole lot. No joke, the show is on three times a week for two-plus months. That is a lot of episodes every single season which means that things happen quickly and we need to regularly remind you that you want to be watching. So... you want to be watching.
Jul 18, 2012TV Network - CBS
Last Thursday we got our first look at this season's house guests. Tomorrow night we will lose one of them for the first time this season. So then, this is not only the first Wednesday episode of the year, but it is the last episode which will feature the full complement of house guests inside the house for the entirety of the episode. Alliances are forming, groups are coming together, plans are being fomented (we could have gone with 'made' there, but we like 'fomented'). Watch how we get to tomorrow's eviction today.
Jul 12, 2012TV Network - CBS
Through the years, "Big Brother" has become a staple of summer television programming. Airing three nights a week every year for more than a decade is a feat. The series has had some greater and some lesser seasons, but one thing we know it has going for it this year is the one and only Julie Chen. Chen returns to host another season of lookie-loo festivities starting tonight. A number of contestants through the years have gone on to appear on other reality shows, will any of this year's contestants strike a chord with the national audience so that we get to experience their wonder on "The Amazing Race" down the line?
Sep 14, 2011TV Network - CBS
Has this been the singularly most exciting season of "Big Brother" that we have ever had? Has this been the most exciting season any version of "Big Brother" anywhere in the world has ever had? Has this been the most exciting season of "Big Brother" that any network anywhere in the universe has ever broadcast or will ever broadcast? Probably not, but that doesn't mean that this hasn't been a whole lot of fun and it doesn't mean that we won't be sad to see the show disappear until next summer. Julie Chen announces the winner tonight.
Aug 31, 2011TV Network - CBS
Do you realize that this is the 24th episode of "Big Brother" this season? Airing three times a week allows for a huge number of episodes to be put out there in a short period of time. That does make some sense -- you need a good number of episodes for a full season but you can't really keep people locked away in a house for months and months on end. As for this particular episode? The season ends in a mere two weeks, if you don't catch up on the foolishness now, you may not have an opportunity before things really come to a head.
Aug 11, 2011TV Network - CBS
Wherein, exactly, does the brilliance of "Big Brother" lie? Is it in the foolish but attractive houseguests? Is it in the Chenbot and her deft interviewing of said foolish but attractive individuals? Is it in the voyeuristic qualities of the series? Or, perhaps, is it somewhere deep within our own psyche? There will be no time to contemplate such grand questions this evening as we're getting another live show and another eviction. Which "Big Brother" contestant will be sent packing tonight? Only the Chenbot knows for sure.
Jul 10, 2011TV Network - CBS
Tonight marks the first Sunday episode this season on "Big Brother." We can't think of a better way for you to turn off your brain cells on a Sunday night, giving them just a little extra chance to recharge before Monday morning, than watching the tomfoolery that is going to be going on tonight. How do we know that there is going to be tomfoolery tonight? This is "Big Brother," there is always tomfoolery taking place. Shenanigans too, but we use that word more and have been trying to avoid it as of late.
Jul 07, 2011TV Network - CBS
Are you one of those people who has a telescope trained at your neighbors' houses? Are you one of those people who hangs out in a tree with a pair of binoculars to see if you can catch a glimpse of your friends as they go about your private business? If you said 'yes' to either of those then quite obviously "Big Brother" is for you. Now, if you answered no to those questions but are only stopped from peeping because it's illegal (and we imagine you fall into that category), then "Big Brother" is still for you.
Sep 15, 2010TV Network - CBS
We'd like to tell you that the houseguests are finally allowed to go free tonight, but there are a couple of things wrong with that statement. First off, houseguests who haven't been evicted have been allowed to leave the house (for rewards and such) and second, are we really happy that some of these folks are going to be let loose in our society once more? Oh, we're not for oppression and locking people up who don't deserve it, but my goodness, cases could be made that a couple of the people on the show this season kind of do deserve it, couldn't they? Yikes!
Jul 08, 2010TV Network - CBS
You know the summer has truly begun when "Big Brother" starts. There is perhaps no better a staple of summer television than CBS' repeatedly putting a whole bunch of - let's say 'odd' - individuals into a single house with cameras everywhere. Julie Chen, or "The Chenbot" if you prefer, is the host of this interesting little program and there to question all the contestants about their not-quite-normal behavior. She may not be as forceful calling out the truly insane as we'd like, but at least she can tell time on an analog clock and knows what "a quart to four" means.
Sep 03, 2009TV Network - CBS
Yet another twist is coming on "Big Brother." That's what the producers tell us. As this listing is being written, though, we don't have a clue what that twist is. So we're just assuming that Thursday (Sept. 3) night's show will mark the end of Kevin's Head of Household run and that somebody else will be going home.
Ratings for "Big Brother" have been increasing in recent weeks, so we can only assume that viewers are getting increasingly curious as the Sept. 15 finale approaches...
Jul 16, 2009TV Network - CBS
It's the first "Big Brother" elimination of the season!
Which of our guinea pigs will we be losing?
Will it be a Brain?
A Popular Kid?
Or an Off-Beat Kid?
Well, we know it won't be a jock, since the Athletes have immunity this week. And it probably won't be a Popular Kid, because the Athletes love the Popular Kids.
It's just like high school.
As usual, Julie Chen hosts.
Jul 14, 2009TV Network - CBS
Eventually, "Big Brother" finally will have premiered in all of its different time slots.
This is the show's Tuesday night premiere and will feature the first Power of Veto challenge.
The Athletes are in control and Jessie has placed Lydia and Chima up for eviction, but will they be able to save themselves and change the balance of control in the house?
We have no idea.
Jul 12, 2009TV Network - CBS
America's favorite televised hamsters have their Sunday night debut as "Big Brother" airs its second episode of the season.
By this point, viewers should already have a pretty good sense of who they're rooting for and who they hope will spend the next three months on slop, suffering and bawling.
Julie Chen, as ever, is your host.
Jul 09, 2009TV Network - CBS
"Big Brother" is back!
CBS' long-running summer reality series (except in strike years where CBS has to occasionally rush a spring version into production) returns for its 11th installment.
Julie Chen is back for her hosting duties and Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan return as executive producers.
Who will survive the three months of competition and tedium to win the $500,000 prize?
We shall see!
