The goal of the BET Awards is to honor the work of African Americans and other minorities across several different fields (music, acting, sports, etc.) in the past year. The 2011 awards presentation is taking place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and Kevin Hart is hosting the festivities. Performers this year include Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Drake, and many more. Patti LaBelle and Steve Harvey are both being honored as well.
