We would normally describe the series "Being Human" as dealing with a ghost, a werewolf, and a vampire, but we no longer feel that's quite right. Instead, there are two werewolves (except for one there's only one) and the ghost is less a ghost now than... an ex-ghost who is doing some sort of funky decomposing except for when she does disgusting stuff to stop the decomposition (we're not going to go into it here) thing. It has been quite the wild season on "Being Human" and we fully expect the season finale to be no different.

We don't want to say something foolish about this show being the undead, but we will happily note to you that a 13 episode third season has been ordered, a season that will air at some point during the next television season. With grim reapers and the dead jumping into bodies and ancient vampires and werewolves who are more wolves than man, it has been quite the second season. One imagines that they're going to end the season tonight with a cliffhanger and that it's going to be quite the long season for us fans, but we're willing to suffer as long as it's a humdinger of a finale.

Things have changed on "Being Human." Season three of the series went out with something of a bang, and season four is going to find a whole lot of changes coming about. The series is, it seems, trying to find some new blood to keep things fresh and lively. Yes, we totally meant that as a joke because the series deals with vampires and werewolves (and ghosts) and consequently there are quite regularly spurts of blood and them vamps do in fact quite like fresh blood. Werewolves might enjoy their blood, but that's more to help wash down the meat than it is out of a desire to have a liquid lunch.

As we recall, there was a whole lot of blood and death on the first season of the US version of "Being Human." That is, really, the sort of thing that you would expect from a show which features a ghost, a vampire, and a werewolf all living together. Aidan is, quite naturally, in a horrible position this year with last year's vampirific finale (you're going to have to watch, we're not going to ruin it for you), and we've never felt like Sally or Josh truly came to grips with their supernatural existence last season either. The way forward will not be easy for these three, but it should certainly be interesting.

Never fear vampire, werewolf, and ghost lovers, Syfy has already renewed "Being Human" for a second season of vampire, werewolf, and ghost fun. You know what's really great about this series? Knowing that it's renewed for a second season doesn't really affect whether or not most of the characters can be killed tonight in the season finale because two of the three main ones are already dead. Strangle the ghost or the vampire all you want - they don't so much need to breathe anyway. Shoot them, stab them (but not with a stake), or strangle them, you're not going to stop their ability to return next year.

We have to say, it's been a little odd watching this show on BBC America while the US counterpart has been airing over on Syfy. It's been particularly difficult as the US version is only in season one whereas here it's season four. We find ourselves asking tons of questions about whether the US one will end up in the same place and if they don't will it be better or worse. Plus, as some of the characters vaguely look the same it does get a little confusing. We try to figure it all out based upon accents which actually has been helping and suggest you do the same. At least until tonight's season finale is finished.

Now that you've sat down and tuned in to the American revamp of the British series, isn't it time that you took an hour out of your busy schedule to watch said British version of the series? Well, tonight is the perfect opportunity to sit down and see what you've been missing as season three is just starting up. There's still a vampire, a werewolf (or two), and a ghost, but the house that they live in looks totally and completely different. Plus, the folks here all have really cool accents.

What do a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost have in common? Answer: they all share a living space on this new series, and by 'new series' we mean 'new US version of a British series that has aired in the States on BBC America.' We still figure that makes it a new series, or perhaps a reimagined series, or a reenvisioned series, or a reformulated without the British accents series. Whatever you want to call it though, Syfy is beginning the US show's 13 episode first season tonight and we're greatly looking forward to seeing how it works out (hopefuly better than "Coupling").

Vampires, werewolves, ghosts - what do they all have in common? Well, if you're asking us, it's that Simon Belmont and his family want them all dead as a doornail, and not just undead dead, but really and truly dead. It's not that Simon Belmont has a part in this show, but we often think of Mr. Belmont when seeing this series - can you imagine what he would do if he was living in present day Britain and encountered ghosts, vampires, and werewolves like those on this series? Yeah, he wouldn't be too pleased. But, you should be because you get to watch their antics. And that's something else they have in common - they make you happy.

Ah, if only the main characters in "Being Human" were human. This is the premiere of the second season so we're not really spoiling anything by telling you, most emphatically, that these folks are not human. One's a vampire, another's a ghost, and the third is a werewolf. They kind of want to be human, that's the whole point of the title, but they're not human and they never will be again. They were once, but those days are now gone. They also have bigger troubles than they're just wanting to be human, but those you're going to have to discover for yourself.
