Tasha Marbury is joining the cast this season (she's the wife of Stephon Marbury) and, for those who like some of the classic wives, they're going to be back is as well. Some of the wives, however, as you may be aware, are no longer wives and the the series is going to follow that transition and how it all plays out. In short, if you tune in to "Basketball Wives" this season you're sure to see all the same sort of "Basketball Wives" goodness (i.e., drama) you've seen in the past and, maybe, it'll even be ratcheted up a few notches. Can't really complain about that, now can you?

You know how you dread your high school reunion, but then you go and everyone is happy and smiling and those people you hated back in the day don't seem to be quite so awful now? Yeah, this reunion isn't going to be like that reunion. Things here are still far too raw for everyone to be all nice and forgiving of any quibbles they may have had during the season. And, while your high school reunion is the right thing for you, this sort of reunion is the right thing for television.

We don't know how much (if any) of this season of "Basketball Wives" was filmed during the NBA lockout. What we do know is this -- no matter how much of the season may have taken place during that moment in time, there is simply no way that it will lessen the 'exuberance' of the women on this series. We tell you that because we don't want you to go into the season afraid that this will be some sort of more toned down version of the show. Oh goodness, there is no way this show will ever be toned down, and we are incredibly happy about that. We can't even imagine what a sedate version of this show would be.

There are many women on this television series, but not all of the women like each other. While we unquestionably feel as though it would be nice for folks in this world to all get along, let's face it, that's simply not going to happen. Now, as long as people aren't going to be getting along, we ask you, why not televise the dislike? We don't suggest doing it for anyone's voyeuristic pleasure, but rather because it can provide us all with a great learning experience about relationships and navigating some of the pitfalls that surround them. Yeah... that's it... not voyeuristic at all...

On some other network at the same moment that this episode of "Basketball Wives" is on there is some sort of awards show where all the glittery people in Hollywood will be patting themselves on the back for a job well done. We don't begrudge them that, a lot of their work has been fantastic, but we're also greatly looking forward to this clip show where we'll get to see some of the best work done by the various basketball wives this season. Much as with that awards show, there are some moments here that we definitely look forward to thinking back on and which undoubtedly require a pat on the back for those involved.
