For some reason it's odd to think that there is going to be a winner declared tonight, but that's exactly what's going to happen.  Perchance the reason we think it weird is that we kind of feel as though we are all winners for having gotten the opportunity to see some of these bachelors and bachelorettes again.  It's almost like we've gotten the chance to visit old friends (or enemies... or frenemies) one last time (we hope).  Of course, even though we're all winners, only one person (sadly not us) is going to be getting a quarter million dollars tonight.

We currently find ourselves in something of a conundrum.  On the one hand we are exceptionally happy that our favorite shows are returning, on the other hand we are terribly distressed that some of our favorite summer shows are going away.  Case in point (on the sad side), "Bachelor Pad" ends its season tonight.  Can you think of a better summer guilty pleasure than this "Bachelor" spinoff?  We are not sure we can -- it may be that we fried our brain over the summer, but this show really seems like a potentially great option.

People, we understand Mondays.  We know just how hard Mondays can be.  We know all about them.  We have had a few Mondays ourselves.  You know what makes us feel better?  Watching odd people hang out on television and, potentially, get relatively frisky in a network TV kind of way (and nothing more than that).  "Bachelor Pad" is really tailor-made for Mondays.  The season isn't going to be around for a whole lot longer, and this is the start of a tough week as you hit that final push towards Labor Day.  So, tune in and relax, you've earned it.

In its press release for "Bachelor Pad," ABC promised us the 'most controversial cast to date.'  That, dear readers, is exactly what we're looking for.  We don't really think of "Bachelor Pad" being about love, but much more about insanity and controversial contestants leads to insanity.  Of course, we've also been told that Michael Stagliano, who took home a quarter-million dollars last year is going to be returning this year and putting that cash on the line in an attempt to find 'the one' (and not in a cool beans Jet Li sort of way).  Looking for a 'guilty pleasure' for the back-half of the summer?  Look no further.

If you needed any more evidence that summer was officially over, the second season of ABC's "Bachelor Pad" is coming to an end tonight.  Love it or hate it, "Bachelor Pad" represents the exact sort of programming that we have come to expect from summer reality television.  It has that frothy, soapy, wearing-very-little-clothing-as-we-lounge-by-the-pool feel to it.  So, if you're looking to get one last whiff of summer before it disappears into the mist for another eight months, might we recommend that you tune in tonight?

We might think it a little foolish for ABC to declare this the most controversial cast yet when we're only in season two of this spinoff, but we're not going to say that they're wrong.  And, quite clearly, this show thrives on the insanity that past contestants bring so the loopier the folks the better.  The 'winner' of this competition gets a cool quarter of a million dollars, but the way we see things, getting to see some of these characters interact with each other week after week actually makes us the winners (and because of that, ABC, we'll be waiting for our check).
