It feels like we've gotten very little "Arrow" so far this season, doesn't it? Well, there's a reason for that -- this is only episode nine tonight. That means we have something on the order of 14 more coming between January and May and that is a good thing. There is still a whole lot we need to see our hero do, so much evil for him to vnaquish, so much of his own soul that he needs to explore. What sort of exploration will take place tonight? Will Queen have to battle an evil Santa? Anything is possible.

Do not fret super friends, "Arrow" is going to be back on your televisions faster than a speeding... arrow. We would say "bullet," but the show won't be back quite that fast and, well, arrow works pretty well for "Arrow." In any case, you see, tonight is the fall finale for the show and as hard as that is to accept, we think that everyone greatly appreciates the fact that we won't have to guess for a while if there is a new episode, as there won't be one. Tune in, because we also think tonight's episode will be a pretty big deal.

Last night on "The Flash," we got the first half of a crossover over event with the nice folks here on "Arrow." A problem was laid out, explained, expanded on. Then, at the end of the episode... well, we aren't going to ruin it for you, but it was made clear that the whole story had to continue tonight on Arrow," and, that's where we are. Tonight, the problem will be solved. Will it change things forever for the folks on both shows? Mayhaps. We'll see.

So, last week we got our first full episode of the new season of "Arrow." It was the start of something new but not wholly different. We don't know where we will find ourselves come May--or where Oliver Queen will find himself--but the more we watch this fall, the better a series of guesses we'll be able to put together. Last week certainly opened up several possible avenues and we wonder which of those roads we'll traverse down tonight. We do know that Tommy Merlyn returns tonight (in a flashback) and Matt Ward will be on as Komodo.

Well, to this point we have gotten to know good old Oliver Queen pretty well, haven't we? And, not just Oliver Queen, but Oliver's Queen's abs, too. Season three premises to tell us more about Oliver and to offer up new and ever increasing threats for him and his alter ego, Arrow. We are told that this new season will bring on the most deadly enemies Queen has faced to this point, and that's probably for the best for the series as it's a little too early for them to do a "Buffy" nerd season.

We don't want you to worry, so we're going to get this out of the way up front -- "Arrow" will be back with a third season. There, okay now that we said that, we feel a whole lot better. Oliver Queen is going to struggle tonight. His alter ego is going to struggle tonight. Perhaps thsoe for whom he cares are going to strugle tonight. All of that is certainly possible--heck, we'd be kind disappointed if that didn't happen--but even if things don't go well for Arrow, he shall have a chance for vengeance in the future.

Want to watch a comic book series firing on all cylinders (not to say that other comic book series on TV aren't firing on all cylinders, just that this one is)? Tune in to "Arrow" tonight and watch the evolution of our hero continue. The show has done a great job of bringing the DC universe to the small screen, introducing heroes and villains, and writing its own tale. The season is going to end in a few short weeks, but tune in tonight and see what you should've been watching all year. Plus, we're told that things don't go brilliantly tonight and someone ends up in the hospital.

There are certain things which we can say without a doubt. Among these is that Oliver Queen is going to be facing a struggle this week. We say that because he tends to face a struggle every week -- it is the lot of the superhero, they struggle. Eventually you can enter into the age-old question of how much the existence of the superhero creates the existence of the supervillain, but we won't say that "Arrow" will go there tonight. Instead, we will simply tell you that, happily, new episodes of "Arrow" return tonight.

Once upon a time there was a man named Barry Allen. Barry Allen could run fast. Really fast. Seriously, ask him to run somewhere and he would get there in a flash. Actually, that's kind of what they called him -- The Flash. The Flash comes to "Arrow" tonight. We don't know if The Flash will already have his Flash powers or if he'll only be scientist Barry Allen, but we do know that he'll be on the show tonight and that The CW is looking at a Flash-based series for next year.

Last week, The CW offered up a look back at the first season of "Arrow," it showed how our hero became our hero and what our hero did once he was our hero. We hope that covering season one in such detail last week means that season two is able to get off to a running start this week, no slow build, just out of the gate superhero insanity. Oliver Queen, one imagines, isn't going to have the easiest of times this season and we'd love to see things go bad right from the outset (not out of hatred, out of a desire for drama).

Before the new season of "Arrow" begins it is important to ask the question "What the heck happened last year on this show?" The CW has heard our question (much like the spirits at the Haunted Mansion) and is going to be providing answers tonight. The new season of "Arrow" will begin next week and tonight, before the season begins, we're getting a recap of all of last year's shenanigans (a term which we use lovingly). So, if you're wondering what all the fuss is about and whom is Oliver Queen guy is, this is the show to watch.

The CW (and The WB before it) have found some success with comic book-based series. To be sure, not every television show they've offered up based on a comic book has been a success ("Birds of Prey"), some haven't even gone to series ("Aquaman" or whatever they were going to call that), but with "Arrow" they are, once more, on the right track. We are hoping that, eventually, they'll do a "Batman" thing, but that seems unlikely. Who knows though, maybe tonight's season one finale of "Arrow" is a backdoor "Batman" pilot. Keep those fingers crossed people. It won't happen (tonight), but keep those fingers crossed.

Back in December on "Arrow," in an episode called 'Vendetta' (look, we did our research), we saw Huntress. Now, tonight, Huntress is back. We know this because tonight's episode is called 'The Huntress Returns' and any episode title which says that Huntress is coming back indicates that Huntress is coming back. Jessica De Gouw plays Huntress and, if you ask us, she's awesome. For those keeping track, this Huntress is not Helena Wayne (Earth-2 Huntress), but rather Helena Bertinelli. You could go ahead and blame "Crisis on Infinite Earths" for retconning Helena Wayne, but what good will it do? Accept what we have and move on.

Have you missed The CW's newest hunky superhero/masked vigilante do-gooder? He is a hunky superhero/masked vigilante do-gooder, right? We think so, but whatever he may be, he's certainly been gone for a while (repeats don't count as his being around). Where has he been? Out on an island somewhere, away from the world, learning to be a hunky superhero/masked vigilante do-gooder? That certainly seems likely, doesn't it? We figure he goes there to brush up on his skills every once in a while, and because we can't tell the difference between fiction and reality we think that may be why he hasn't been on our TV screens with new episodes as of late.

All together now -- Green Arrow is the guy to be. Hard livin' is the life for he. Fine, don't sing with us, but do watch The CW's latest update of a classic DC Comics title. As we all know, the network had a brilliantly successful run with "Smallville," and they're going to be trying to duplicate that success here with "Arrow." The tale itself is one of a billionaire playboy who is marooned on a desert island for five years and who, upon his return, becomes a cool beans superhero. He is going to right wrongs, fight for justice, and 'do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations'... okay, we slipped into Lincoln there at the end with the quote, but you get the point.
