We would like to be able to tell you exactly what you can expect from tonight's "American Dad" season finale, but, let's face it, the only thing we can really tell you to expect is the unexpected. Yes, you can - and probably should - totally expect the unexpected tonight. Oddly in this case, the unexpected is completely expected and yet remains unexpected. Perhaps that's because it's going to sneak up on us when we least expect it. Or, more likely, it's a semantic we simply don't understand.

Next week at 9:30pm you'll be able to watch a new episode of "American Dad." You will be able to do the same at 9:30pm this week. Of course, what's special is that this week you'll be able to watch an episode at 9:00pm also. Yes, back-to-back episodes this week. It is okay to admit your love of "Animation Domination" in general and "American Dad" in particular. And, if you're on the fence about the series, what better way to make a decision than watching back-to-back episodes tonight?

How is it possible that this is the seventh season of "American Dad?" Where did the time go? Why did it go? We have so many questions we can't possibly start even asking them. Maybe though, tonight, "American Dad" will answer some of them. After all, our dad always answered our questions and our dad was American, so if this dad really is American and a dad he should do the same, no? Our dad didn't have an alien, but we don't think that should really make a difference in terms of getting our questions answered.

Okay, above we referred to this as the sixth season premiere and while that's true, it doesn't fully explain why this episode is special. Not only is this the season premiere but it's also the series' 100th episode. How's that? Well, the truth is, it's not quite enough, is it? Not only is this the sixth season premiere, not only is it the 100th episode of "American Dad," but Hayley also elopes this week. We can promise you that were it our daughter who did such a thing we'd have a major heart attack. How will our favorite American dad cope? We'll see.

Do you believe in miracles? What if that famed Miracle on Ice was less a miracle and more Roger playing on the team as Chex LeMeneux and taking steroids to help ensure the victory? It might hurt a little - and more than a little if you were either Michael Eruzione or Rob McClanahan who are both guest-voicing as themselves tonight - but it would be completely in keeping with the series. So, if you can't find hockey on the Olympics this evening, why night watch your memories of the 1980 hockey team be forever tarnished.
