We have, it seems, been horribly misinformed.  We had been under the impression that the party never stopped in Miami, that it was just drinking and sunning and parties and murder all day and night.  Well, that party is coming to a close for the season this very evening.  Horatio Cane and company are having their ninth season finale tonight.  Well, those who have been there since the beginning are having their ninth season finale, and everyone else is having a season finale commensurate with the number of years they've been there.

We routinely highlight it when the star of television series writes or directs an episode of their show.  We can't quite recall though ever highlighting an episode that was not only written but also directed by the star.  Adam Rodriguez is performing that feat tonight and we have to say that we're excited to see exactly how it all unfolds.  It may be that it is simply a prototypical "CSI: Miami" episode, but that might actually be exactly what Rodriguez wants - for it to blend in seamlessly with every other episode.

Call us kooky ('Okay, Kooky'), but if we were scheduling a massive event like the "CSI: Miami" 200th episode not only would we bust out complimentary walkers so that we could feel truly old, but we'd also schedule it for during the November ratings period.  Amazing, it seems as though CBS' lineup is strong enough that they can put such an event outside that time.  Wow.  We're amazed the "CSI: Miami" is at episode 200.  We're amazed that it's being touted in December not November.  We're also kind of amazed that David Caruso hasn't pulled an "NYPD Blue" and bailed (that's the joke that never gets old... unlike "CSI: Miami").

We always like it when we're promised that someone on the team will die, and not just on this series, on any show.  It allows for an exciting guessing game about who the producers will dangle in front of us as the possibly killed individual before giving us the guessing game about who actually will die.  It's never the dangled individual who dies, it's always the one they want you not to think is going to get it.  Think back to Paul Sobriki on "ER," that's just always the way it goes.  Stupid Paul Sobriki, we still miss Lucy Knight.
