Make It or Break It

The Olympics, as we all know, are coming. And, they're not just coming in reality, they're coming on "Make it or Break it," too. For the show, as of tonight, there are going to be just eight weeks worth of competition before they'll be on the team... if they'll be on the team. Now, we don't know much about exercise and sports, but it is our basic understanding that as such a deadline looms, people tend to get tense and agitated, and that such tenseness and agitation leads to a huge number of fights and problems. We do think the show is going to be quite a good deal of fun for the next few weeks.

This show is going to open up with something of a good news, bad news thing. Sure, all four girls from the Rock made the US world team, but that doesn't mean that things are hunky-dory. We could get into the specifics of all the problems that they face, but that could cut out some of the drama on tonight's premiere and that is not something we'd want to do. There is a certain joy to not knowing what you're going to witness before you witness, a joyous surprise element even if the surprises present aren't actually joyous. Watch and see if we're wrong.

Do you remember us telling you at the beginning of this show's second season that you really ought to take a moment and watch all about the Rock gymnasts and their renegade (some would say potentially evil, but we don't quite know who) ways? Well, we did, and now that their summer season finale has rolled around, we're highly recommending that you tune in again (we're not recommending that you miss the other episodes, just highlighting these as potentially more important). We're not quite sure what is going to go down, but storylines are percolating and the chance for drama is high (high like gymnastic move that has them jumping, we'd name one but don't actually know any).

If "Glee" has taught us anything, it's that every single thing can turn into an incredibly competitive activity. We probably already knew that about gymnastics, but it's nice to have "Glee" reinforce the notion. "Make it or Break it" centers on a team of gymnasts and their slightly different style. We're not calling the difference bad, but there are those out there who do, and the team deals with the haters on a regular basis. They also have to deal with one another, family, friends, and find their own way in the world. So much drama. So much fun.
