Well, folks, another season of "The Bachelorette" is drawing to a close tonight and that means that Desiree Hartsock is going to have to make a decision about with whom she wants to spend a whole lot more one-on-one time. Will she choose the right man? Will you correctly guess just which fellow she goes with and will one of the guys she doesn't choose become "The Bachelor" in an upcoming installment of that series? We don't know the answer to any of those questions except the last which is 'almost certainly.' Tune in, watch, and be prepared to throw things at the screen when things don't go the way you think they should.

The season of love is over for Andi Dorfman. Sort of, anyway. Dorfman's season on "The Bachelorette" ends tonight. That means that Dorfman will be choosing someone with whom she may want to spend the rest of her life. Thus, the season ends, but we certainly hope that while she may be choosing a winner tonight, that she will in the end be the winner herself and that the love she chooses will last the rest of her life.

The current season of "The Bachelorette" is drawing to a close next week. Next week, Andi Dorfman will be choosing the love of her life and, after that, we might just learn who the next Bachelor will be. This week, that means, we're getting the annual "Men Tell All" special. A regularly intriguing event when the men tell all (or the women if this is a "Bachelor" season), we get some insights into maybe what we didn't see on camera and how they took things.

What one typically sees in a "Bachelor" or "Bachelorette" season is 10 episodes plus an opposite sex tells all and an "After the Final Rose" special. By our math, tonight is episode eight and the season ends on the 28th. That means that we are down to none-too-many bachelors at this point. Who will Andi Dorfman choose in a few weeks and who shall be sent home this very evening? At least one of those questions gets answered today.

Last week, what with the end of the traditional television season and all, featured the season premiere of "The Bachelorette," but not in its normal time period. We therefore would like to take the opportunity to remind you that the show is going to air from 8pm to 10pm on Monday evenings and not at whatever ludicrous time it aired last week (9 or 9:30 as we recall). So, if you are appropriately satiated from your Memorial Day BBQ, tune in and enjoy.

You know what, we love the notion of year-round programming and these series which premiere at semi-regular intervals and help lift us up out of the morass we feel when other series end their regular seasons. Too confusing? Okay, how about this -- yay for fun summer alternative programming. Better? Great. Andi Dorfman is the bachelorette in question this time. You may remember her departing last season's Juan Pablo infused "Bachelor." See if she finds true love this time out.

The truth is that we don't know that the men really tell all when they have these "The Men Tell All" specials, but we're not sure that matters. It sounds better for them to say "tell all" rather than "tell more" or "tell most." How would that sound? "The Bachelorette: The Men Offer a Little Bit of Added Insight you Wouldn't Otherwise get" isn't the sort of thing that would get you to tune in, and you should tune in. Some of what is said during these specials is truly interesting and gives us a better idea of what took place during the season. Plus, it's a great reminder that the finale is fast approaching.

Some were upset that Desiree Hartsock didn't 'win' when she was amongst the women on "The Bachelor." We disagree. We think that this is a way better situation for her to be in. Rather than having to go off with the man who chose her, she now gets to go out and do the selecting. Tell us that it isn't better to be in the driver's seat. Go ahead, try and tell us that she should simply accept, caveman style, the man who points at her and grunts. No, it's much better for her to do the pointing and grunting.

As interested as we are in seeing whom Emily chooses tonight on "The Bachelorette" finale, we wish there was some sort of legal requirement attached to her decision. Wouldn't it be better if, following her choice, Emily and the chosen man were forced to live together for a period no less than 18 months? It would lead to a whole other TV show, wouldn't it? Yes, we got that wedding back in the day, but this would lead to at least one special (probably more) following every season and we could watch as the relationship either blossoms or the wheels come totally off. That's really what we want to see.

Tonight may be the third episode of "The Bachelorette" this season, but it is the first one to air in the correct time slot. That is to say that the show is settling down without actually settling down. Can you imagine how disappointing it would be if a season of "The Bachelorette" (or "The Bachelor") didn't at some point feature horrific backstabbing or true insanity or a half-dozen seductions or some other bit of weirdness that makes you fall in love with the franchise all over again. It would be awful. So, never fear, while the show may have finally hit its regular slot, the producers are still going to try to make things terribly irregular.

Back in the day, Brad Womack proposed to Emily Maynard. Emily accepted Brad's proposal, but the relationship didn't work out. Emily has not moved to Austin to be with Brad, but Emily is still out in the world and looking for the one who will make her happy. She's going to start that search tonight on national television. We wish her the best of luck and totally recommend that she give us a call if none of these fellows work out.

At the end of tonight's two-hour episode, Ashely Hebert will be making her decision about with whom she'd like to spend the rest of her life. The bachelor she ultimately chooses will also get the opportunity to make a decision -- he'll be able to choose whether he accepts Ashley's advances or if he has just been on the series in order to promote himself and doesn't care for the woman. We certainly hope that Ashley doesn't end up with that sort of lout, but let's face it, it could happen (and that's why this is a must watch).

Looking at the calendar and seeing all the season finales we'll admit to getting somewhat depressed. The notion that the season is ending is always one which gives us no small distress. Well, happily, there is more summer programming than ever, and the new season of "The Bachelorette" is leading the charge. It premieres tonight with Ashley Hebert who appeared on the last season of "The Bachelor." Will she find love now that she's at the center of everything?

We can't quite decide whether the sort of decisions Ali has had to make this season are easy ones or more difficult. If there was some sort of legally binding requirement that she get married it would certainly be difficult, but without that is she just having a laugh or is she truly considering it. She seems the type to truly be considering it, but maybe she's just a great actress. Of course, even if she's serious about the entire thing, she may have decided early on whom she was going to choose and then the only difficulty would be letting the loser down nice and easy. Easy or hard for her or anyone else, the final decision will be made tonight.

While we are absolutely interested in just whom Ali Fedotowsky will choose as her beau (and if one of the men she doesn't becomes the bachelor next season), we're perhaps more interested in just what the men have to say about her. The behind the scenes goings-on, the things we're going to hear about tonight, perhaps make a better show than the one that has been put forward every week. That is why if you're only going to see one episode of "The Bachelorette" this season we encourage you not to make it the finale (which, yes, is important), but rather 'The Men Tell All.'

Man were we blown away when Ali Fedotowsky chose her career over poor Jake Pavelka last season on "The Bachelor." She may have changed her mind later, but by then it was too late... or was it. Maybe Pavelka wasn't the only man for her, maybe Ali can find true love, maybe she's just looking for a new career. Whatever the truth of the matter is, we do know that Fedotowsky is going to be the center of this season's "The Bachelorette." Will she find true love or will she end up with a broken heart... again? Which are you rooting for?

We don't know who Jillian Harris will pick in the season finale of ABC's "The Bachelorette," but we're pretty confident of one thing: No matter who she chooses, she's almost certain to make less of a botch of things than Jason Mesnick.
